Help - Top Gear 3000 Crystal clock

hello all! :-)

well, my english is kinda rusty but ill try to make it at least understandable

i need some help with the value of the crystal oscillator for the DSP4 IC used in the top gear 3000 game cartridge... mine game cartridge is missing this crystal . If anyone could get the game cartridge open to take some pictures of the crystal or send me the value it would be a great help!

all i could find about it is that DSP4 is based on a uPD77C25 and it supposely runs at 8MHz, but i dont know if is this the value of the crystal itself or not.

The DSP4 IC was only used in Top Gear 3000.

The message I left for you was a joke in reference to an internet meme.

anyway, my suggestion would be to just find out the specs of the ones generally used in SNES cartridges. I doubt it is different for each cartridge.

yes, you are right, maybe its the same value of the other DSPs as all of them uses the NEC µPD77C25 CPU... prob is that i dont own any of the other games that uses DSP as well.. so im stuck, ill try to find some info about one of those other games, tnx

I'm really not good with the technical facts of this, but I know Top Gear 3000 is the only game with a DSP-4 chip someone told me when I tried to emulate it for whatever reason.

I do own the game though, and it's freaking amazing, just have to say

well i did some more tests with some crystals, no luck so im abandoning any repair attempt and will try to get another cartridge.

Good luck finding another cartridge then! Game needs to be played. It's kind of rare and a lot don't know about it sadly...
