What if video games came in combo packs?

I could see it working Multiplatform games coming with something like a Steam/Origin Voucher or even PS3 games with PSN vouchers. But other than that, I can't see how bundling Multiplat. releases would really work

I was just about to link a picture of The Orange Box, but then I watched the video and realized you meant comboing different platform versions of the same game together. So instead, I'll link a picture a different Valve product!

They did do something slightly different than what you were saying, but it's still sort of the same idea! If you bought the PS3 version, you got the Steam version for free! Of course it was ok since Valve owns Steam... but I doubt this sort of thing will be done by a different company
I think another (and possible) way of doing it is if something like Steam or Origin bundled their games with a DMR free copy as well!
