Lightbulb your gamecube games in 10 years

So we all know that the lifespan of the cartdige will long outlast that of the cd generation, i mean just look at this following video

but how much longer will our beloved smash bro melee's and pikmin disc's be around till were having to purchase downloaded version on a modified disc instead of the beloved originals? A lot of people aren't aware that over 100,000 pokemon blue and red cartridges have begun losing their save festures due to the life span of the chips inside, but don't worry, some are better than others and your local retro game shops should be able to repair this function. But my main question is in your opinion how much longer will gamecube be a playable system?

I'm guessing another 20 years or so, maybe 30 before all the original disks start getting messed up and losing data

Wait a sec...I just noticed this thread is "your Gamecube games in 10 years". I'd like to point out that most of my PS1 games are near mint, even after 10-15 years.

I'm sure with the right person taking care of the disks in the right environment they can last a generation at least, but I would say maximum 50 years till those ps1 disks and our beloved GC disks are scrap.. and I know we have emulators but like u said in a thread somewhere "I love the sound of pulling out n64 and popping in the cartridge"

But I don't even take my discs out of the cases unless I play them. And I rarely play them. They'll be working in 100 years, never mind 50. That's PS1 & GCN.

I'm not saying so much about the condition, more about the actual information on the disk. I was under the impression that DVD-R risks have a life span of 15 years before the data starts getting corrupted?

Is it really possible for data to suddenly become corrupted? I'm not an expert so I don't know, but it sounds a bit false to me.
