Should I get a Wii U?

I'm considering trading in my old Wii and a few games, (I live in Australia, so EBGames) and I also have a few questions about the controller (gamepad, whatever).

Is the wii-mote compatible with the Wii U? Because games like Skyward Sword need a wii-mote for that swinging action thingy?

Also, will we need to buy two gamepads to play two player on the Wii U (Important question, because me and my brother hate to share!)
Thanks in advance for any answers

Yes all wii-mote's are compatible with WiiU. No I don't believe you need to gamepad's to play 2 player, one can use the gamepad and the other can you a wiiu remote, or a wii remote.

Definitely, it's compatible. It's imperative you hang onto your remotes for multiplayer. Because...

...for now, you won't need a second GamePad for multiplayer, as Nintendo is handling controllers for what multiplayer games they have now through the Wii Remotes.

Good luck, and I hope you enjoy your new console.

The only multiplayer stuff I've been doing is through the Wii remote. You don't need two game pads. You really don't even need the game pad to play multiplayer anyways unless you really want to use boost mode. I say if you have extra cash, then get one!

I'd still hang onto my Wii though if you can. Wii U can't play gamecube games and there's no VC yet.

Save your money and buy a Wii U when it's at a discount price and there's a wider range of games.

I saw a review from the Guardian on Youtube called Nintendo Wii U - An in depth review, and that pretty much made my mind up for me, but I would admit there isn't that many games so could be worth waiting a bit longer for more games

Always trust a liberal newspaper when choosing your consoles. You can tell this one is from the north of England.
