Are there any possibilities for a Metroid reboot? Or can it be brought back to life?
Before I get spammed to death, here's the drill and summary of how the series have ended:
Let's start with the very first Metroid, in this game Samus destroyed Kraid, Ridley and Mother Brain, who were aiming to use the Metroids to create the ultimate army and possess dominance over the galaxies and universes. Throughout the Prime series we saw how the Pirates evolved and their desire for universla domination, they would give their lives to accoplish such goal, we also saw how Samus defeated enemies powerful beyond belief, later Samus faced the Metroids and exterminated the race in Metroid II, where she destroyed the entire Metroid race with only one trace: the Baby. The Baby caused and sent Samus to her final battle aganst Mother Brain, she killed and sent to their demise to all of Higher Command, Ridley, Kraid, Phantoon, Dragoon and Mother Brain were all destroyed, along every single Space Pirate, and the Baby.
Samus later faces with Adam, in the Bottle Ship, where mysteries of her past were answered, but it only opened to many plotholes (such as the Chozo). The Metroids, somehow, were brought back to life, cloned, but in the end they were all destroyed again. Later came the last battle, in Metroid Fusion, where Samus faced many old foes once again, and a clone of herself, known as SA-X (Short of Samus X). As the final adventure, she lost the Power Suit, and now possesess the Omega Suit, and the last Metroid, Omega, was killed. But should the Metroid series should be rebooted or should it keep going with the same storyline?
Now, you all wonder, why I say Metroid might need a reboot? Because the previous story was finished. For example:
Beginning- Metroid, Metroid Prime, Hunters, Echoes, Prime 3
Climax- Metroid II, Super Metroid
Ending- Metroid: Other M, Metroid Fusion
Metroid had quite an ending with Fusion, where Samus became literally invincible, but all Pirates were exterminated three times, there are no Metroids alive, there is no Metroid game without Metroids (Can there be Super Mario games without Goombas?) isince they are the purpose of the story. Something that can absolutely work is that Metroid gets a remake, where the story can be explained better, with different gameplay, or that it has a completely new beginning with a totally new story (obviously based on metroids).
Can the Metroid series keep going with the same story? I personally think it's possible, there are a lot of plotholes, which Other M left us specifically, like:
-If Samus was supposedly raised by the Galactic Federation, why were the Chozo part of her story?
-Where are the Chozo? Where they exterminated?
(Remember: The games don't follow the same story of the Metroid Manga)
-Are there more cloned Metroids?
-Where are the Hunters?
-Who was riding the ship in the end of Prime 3?
Many other questions are still unanswered, which can potentially lead to new adventures for Samus, for example, the Wii U Metroid game can deal with the Chozo, whereas the Prime 3 ending can deal with the mysterious ship from 3, and as a direct sequel to Hunters, as it can be the ship is from Sylux. But, what are your thoughts? I personally think the series should answer those mysteries, because Metroid, unlike Super Mario and Legend of Zelda, has a progressive storyline.
Do I look like a freak?

Other M was not developed in house. Its story can be quite easily discarded.

"No, you're clearly wrong. A game's success is determined by the score. Opinions are facts now, and if this game gets too many negative facts then this game clearly sucks so we should all just leave and play Kingdom Hearts and Call of Duty.(that hurt to type)" - Sabeta_Sama of GFAQs

Also I don't think Metroid should be rebooted. While it's situated on a continuity timeline somewhat like Zelda, it's so loose in its continuity to where a new game introducing new plot points could take place as early as in between Metroid and Metroid Prime.
