Wii U First Impressions
A thread for those of us who have already assimilated into the next gen to share out first impressions.
I love the controller. A lot more than I even thought I would. Looking to the touch screen and back is a little jarring right now, but as with anything new, we'll get used to it. I hate that to play Wii stuff you have to basically emulate the Wii OS, but again, a future update may change this, although it is unlikely. The only game I've played so far is Nitnendoland, which demonstrates some neat ideas, but at the same time make's me worry Nintendo may slip up again like they di with the Wii. I really love the Pikmin minigame, but the rest seem kind of boring (I haven't had an opportunity to play the multiplayer ones yet.
Mivverse is awesome. We may never have the official Nsider forums again, but Miiverse is honestly the next best thing. MY only complaint is that I wish there were user created communities instead of just official ones. Thank God they got rid of friend codes, though.
I played Brawl for a minute, and I must say, while Wii games are still not true high definition, they certainly look better. They have a better aspect ratio and on 720p there is a certain smoothness in the visuals you won't get on a regular wii console.
Lastly, the controller...is a ****in' touch screen remote control for your satellite/cable and TV....HOW THE **** CAN YOU BEAT SOMETHING THAT AWESOME?!
I don't know what the future holds, but things are looking up for the present.

"No, you're clearly wrong. A game's success is determined by the score. Opinions are facts now, and if this game gets too many negative facts then this game clearly sucks so we should all just leave and play Kingdom Hearts and Call of Duty.(that hurt to type)" - Sabeta_Sama of GFAQs
