Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D

We now have some high-quality footage of the full trailer for Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D. The game which was announced today during the Nintendo Direct presentation is a port of the incredibly fun Wii game that came out in November and December 2010. The Nintendo 3DS version comes packed with some incredible 3D effects. Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D is coming Summer 2013 in North America and Europe.

Personally I'm a little disappointed that Nintendo is keeping up with the whole 'port' idea, and while DKCR was a fun game, some original content, or even a sequel, would have been preferred.

Maybe this is an indication of something more original for DK on the 3DS, but perhaps it isn't for a little ways off, so perhaps this is their way of making amends for the long wait, like what Nintendo is doing with Wind Waker HD?

Frankly, I think this is awesome. The more games they can port to the handheld, the better, because I myself prefer to have my games with me wherever.

Also my sentiments. But like Nintenduendo said, it's probably just to hold fans over until they come out with another original Donkey Kong game.

While I'd love a completely new game, I have to agree. I play handheld games a lot more when I'm in the mood. Anyway, I'm not going to complain about ports when there's like 8 completely new 3DS games coming out this year that I want from Nintendo, and that's just what we know about so far. So any additional ports on that are fine.

I still remember the name Donkey Kong 3d was leaked at one point. I was hoping for a sequel to dk64, but I guess that's wishful thinking.

DK64 sequel is obviously for the Wii U.*

if there is a 3d environment sequel at all, I will be very happy. As long as it's good of course, and people don't hate on collecting things xD Not like you didn't have to do all sorts of fun things in dk64 to get everything.

Much as I wouldn't mind a sequel to Donkey Kong 64 I get the feeling it was probably a one time thing or they'd have done it by now. Perhaps if they hadn't spent the GameCube and Wii era generating rather questionable titles like Donkey Konga and DK: Barrel Blast!.

Donkey Konga was GOOD. So was Donkey Konga 2.

And Donkey Konga 3.
