Hey guys!

I'm pissed. Mainly with Nintendo.
Because if they make another NSMB. ANYTIME SOON, well...!
Think about it...

New Super Mario Bros. (DS): Great game, could do with a few improvements though.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii (Wii XD): Improved! More levels and different ways to play.

New Super Mario Bros. 2 (3DS): Good, but eventually they're gonna run out of ideas...

New Super Mario Bros. U (Wii U): Basically, one new power-up that is neven gonna kick off, and ugly baby Yoshis? NOT for me!

Post your thoughts!

I'm thinking I've already said quite a lot on this elsewhere. I like the 3DS one so I'm not complaining, but I dislike both console versions.

Yeah they're really milking the New series. I stopped after the Wii version which could have been great if not for the poorly programmed co-op (head jumping). But I digress, where there's a Nintendo console launch there must be a Mario.

By the looks of it they've been released at least once on each platform so I don't think we'll be seeing any more for a while

I don't really care much for the series, only one I really liked was the original for the DS

The White Raccoon Mario feature, in 3D Land as well as NSMB.2 is starting to annoy me. I don't know if it's available in the Wii U version, but if it should be anywhere it should be Wii U.

To be fair, the Wii U one is more difficult than the Wii & DS games. The 3DS one seemed easy though.

You don't HAVE to collect it. It's only there if you want to just run through the level easily.

Agreed. I think everyone just expects for there to be one when a new console domes out - I'd be pretty shocked myself if they didn't.

I also agree. I think the DS/3DS ones are easier than the Wii and Wii U versions, but maybe that's just because I played them more.
They're ridiculously easy compared to the Super Mario Bros. game in the 80's, but that was quite a challenge and gaming has obviously evolved a lot since then.

I've explained this countless times. There's a reason why Nintendo muddled up so many NSMB games at once.

1. To kick off the launch of the new eShop features, most notably the feature to download a digital version of a retail game on the same day as the launch of the retail version, Nintendo released NSMB2.

2. To kick off the launch of the Wii U, Nintendo launches New Super Mario Bros. U. This is the first home console launch with a Mario title since the N64, discounting Luigi's Mansion.

The quandry here is that Nintendo released these two games 5-6 months apart. Yet, if you look at it from the perspective of them releasing either game later than the other, can you really say that the criticism wouldn't be in place still? If Nintendo delayed the launch of NSMB2, or canceled it altogether, their eShop feature would've been far more understated. If they delayed NSMBU, the Wii U launch would've been in shambles and the system would've gotten off to a worse start than it is right now. It would've had to have a secondary launch ala the 3DS' second launch.

The games are 'easier' because people who are familiar with the gameplay of Mario know what to expect. The only reason we say the older games are harder is because they were some of the first games we ever played. It's not that the gameplay is any easier; it's because we know the style so well. And for Mario, that's not a bad thing. The gameplay is far from broken and if it isn't broken, why fix it?

(White Raccoon)

Yes, but if people managed to play through EVERY OTHER Mario game without needing one, why should they add the feature now?
