3 Million Dollar Donation Box

All ya greedy arse people look and read this....

PORT JEFFERSON, N.Y. (AP) - A New York pastor says one of his congregants donated a winning lottery ticket worth $3 million
to his church.

Pastor Bertrand Crabbe of the True North Community Church
in Port Jefferson says the donor, who asked to remain anonymous,
donated the "Ba Da Bling" scratch-off ticket immediately after realizing he won.

Crabbe says the donor said,
"This was why God put the ticket in his hands."
The donation came after Crabbe joked that the church needed a couple million for a new church because its congregation had grown so much.

A state Lottery official said Wednesday that the independent Christian church will get a little over $100,000 a year through 2028. The amount could be higher if withheld taxes are refunded because of the church's nonprofit status.

Crabbe says the 650-member church will give the first year's proceeds to other charities.

See that?

A random good samaritan dude, won the lottery,
and just dropped it in the donation box.

How good is this person?

Very good....

Marvman has no idea, how stable this person is financialy,
but it seems like this super generous soul, doesn't need money....

The individual is just happy with what they got.
And what they achieved in life. Money doesn't solve
anything, except poverty.

It doesn't neccessarily give ya happiness, according to this person's
actions. And better off, giving it to the church.
Thats a gauranteed first class ticket to heaven/paradise right there.

Now put yourself in this person's shoes/stilletos (LMAO)
What would ya do with the 3 Million Dollar ticket?

Marvman would do the exact same thing....

Rockn.

I would donate a 3 million dollar ticket... I would even donate a 10 million... or if I won PowerBall a few years ago 352 million... I have no need for the money...

Doesnt this belong in news?

I read this story yesterday, and to be honest, I was completely astonished at what he did.

But what was that guy doing scratching off a ticket in the church? In California, the least amount you can win is 7 million w/o taxes with the twenty-six annual payments (Fantasy Five). But I'm guessing you are asking what I would do if I won that ticket that the man had. I would cash it in, then once I received a lump sum, I'd donate half of it to the Salivation Army or the Christian's Children Fund. I'd be likely to spend the whole thing way too fast, unfortunately, so I'd have to put it away somewhere.

I could find better things to do with three million dollars than drop it in a church donation box.
First off, I admit, I'd take care of me and my wife first. Not buy a mansion or anything. Just make sure all of our debt was paid off and we could make it through school with no troubles.
The rest I would donate to various humanitarian causes, specifically causes for women's rights or battered women's shelters...just something I think is severely underfunded.
Giving it to a church is stupid (no offense). Like we don't have enough megachurches already (btw, MEGAchurches? WTF, what's next? Ultrachurches? Superchuches?)

I think that person was indeed a good person (not a good Samaritan...if you remember, the Samaritan wasn't a believer and he still helped out...) but he was definitely misguided...there are much better causes to donate to then paying a churches' utility bills indefinitely....

I would donate some money to good causes, but would never think of giving it to a church. There are just more important causes out there.

The guy did what he wanted. If he was passinate about his religion, then he wanted to help out. Churches do Help out people. So he wasnt misguided.

Now...i would keep the money. I would make sure that me and my family lead a good life. And that doesnt mean buying big houses and fancy cars. I would put the money in savings. amd take out what is needed (bills, furniture, etc) And i would make sure i saved most for my kids.
