Super Nintendo NTSC, Cartridge seating

Hi all,

I have recently acquired a SNES NTSC off ebay. I have a concern about putting cartridges in and if its just a design flaw or if mine is at fault.

I insert a cartridge and I have noticed that if I gently push the cartridge back, the game crashes or the screen goes blank. Excuse the stupidness of this quetion.

Just wondering if this is normal or if its at fault? Thanks

It's a normal issue, most of the SNES hardware is delicate, so it's not meant to be tilted, but if it happens to you very often, or even while you're playing, it could mean that either your cartridge or your game is dirty, try cleaning both if you can, if it still happens so often after that, probably your console is damaged by the time.

I tried the same thing on my PAL Super Nintendo and the same thing happens. So logically its safe to assume that its just the design of it.
Gently pushing the cartridge 'back' must dislodge it from the slot contacts.
