Some people are a little upset over Venusaur, Blastoise and Charizard getting Mega Evolutions. Personally I don't think you should be, though I do understand. First, let's get my Pokemon back-history out of the way. My first Pokemon game was Yellow, followed by Silver. I probably played Silver the second most of any of the Pokemon games. Ruby is probably the one I spent the most time on. I hated Diamond and Pearl, but Black And White were amazing. Now that we've got that out of the way, let's move on to business. First off, Pokemon is just a game. I know us 90's kids that grew up with make it into something more. It's actually a bit of a culture at this point. Tons of us still collect the figures, or the cards or do something extracurricular with the series aside from just play the game. Pokemon is definitely something special. But at the heart of it all, it's still a game and games have to change. If Pokemon still played exactly like Gen 1, with cluttered menus and sprites so ugly I could shit prettier pixels, would anyone still play? Mega Evolutions are most likely going to be overpowered, and that bothers some people. What bothers people more is them "butchering" their childhood favorites, like Venusaur, Blastoise and Charizard. But the way I look at it they aren't being butchered at all - they're being expanded. On top of this, Mega Evolutions are probably going to be banned competitively, I can almost guarantee that. So don't worry about it too much.
"No, you're clearly wrong. A game's success is determined by the score. Opinions are facts now, and if this game gets too many negative facts then this game clearly sucks so we should all just leave and play Kingdom Hearts and Call of Duty.(that hurt to type)" - Sabeta_Sama of GFAQs
