Pikachu What's your favorite Gameboy?

I know it's probably been posted a lot, but I'm new here and just want to ask around and get people's opinions on things. Just want to know what your favorite Gameboy is, whether it be the original, Color, Advance, SP or Micro and why.

I think my favorite would be the Color. I bought a purple one off of eBay not too long ago and it was in perfect condition. I love the looks, the color, the feel, everything about it. I don't have too many games for it, so far Pokemon Red and Crystal, but I love the system. I really wish it had a backlight (don't we all) even if it was like the Pocket model released in Japan.

I'd love to know what you all think? What's your favorite Gameboy and why? Thanks for sharing!

The Advance SP. It had a built in backlight which was an exciting new thing at the time. Before that, the only way to play in the dark on the original GBA was to buy that bulky flashlight peripheral. The built in rechargable battery is also a plus because I could not afford to buy new AA's every other day. And it was capable of playing GameBoy and GameBoy Color games.

This completely. As much as I loved my Pikachu GBC, when I got my SP, it was love at first play. No more begging for batteries and yay for hiding under the covers playing all night!

I love my SP too! It was always the best choice out of the three, everything you said were really good qualities. I found out you can put an SP frontlight into a Color, I'd love to try that.

The first one I got was an SP, and I liked it, but I prefer the original GBA. I think I like the shape of the Colour even more though.

Same here. I got the SP, that was my first ever Gameboy. Since then, nostaliga kicked in and I wanted an Advance because I always liked the look of it and I never had one. I always wanted a Color too and was able to get one at a good price. I love the style of the Color though. Color + backlight = perfection

GBA SP. I grew up with it more plus it was the first Game Boy to have a built in light.

The SP, though if the original GBA had a backlit screen, I'd probably choose that instead

I prefer the shape/colours of the GBA, but the backlight made the SP better for me since I took mine everywhere. I did have one of those lights that you could attach to your GBA though. I'd probably play on that again if I could actually find both of them, I only know where my SP is.
I can't decide on my favourite to be honest.
