Nintendo Wavebird

Obviously the best controller EVER! How did you guys get yours? I got mine for free from a friend, he didn't want it. It was just the controller, but a few months later I bought a reciever off of eBay for $30 and I love it. It's my favorite controller

The Wavebird is absolutely amazing, however I've been through 3 of them in the last 10 or so years. I guess with the amount of Smash Bros. I play, that's to be expected.

I've heard of it, but very little of what I did.
Hmm...
What are the advantages to owning one and playing with it?

It's extremely comfortable, same button layout and everything, and it's got a great range. Basically you set the dial (1-16 I think) on the reciever to the same number on the controller and it works. Nothing else needed except for two AA batteries. It's just overall amazing, but they are more expensive. They become more rare every day sice they aren't in production anymore. Rocketfish makes one similar for $20 and you could pick it up from Best Buy, but I find the original to be the best. If you're a Gamecube owner, this is a must!

Slightly larger, so it feels better in the hand, good wireless range, sturdy construction. Only downsides are no vibration and requires AA batteries.

Ahh, okay. Thanks.
The "feels better in the hand" part sounds very good to me. I'd prefer a more comfortable controller when it comes to playing a GCN game.

Something to consider come holiday time, :3

They look really cool, there's like some rare ones and I've seen those go for like $250 which is nuts for a controller. But then again those are just the rare ones, like the Club Nintendo white and blue scheme.
