eShop going offline for maintanence due to overload

Quote:
Here we are. The eShop hasn't been its normal self lately, as some of you may have experienced first hand this week. Nintendo will be taking the storefront offline later today for maintenance.

"In an effort to manage the high volume of traffic and ultimately improve your experience, we are temporarily taking the Nintendo eShop services offline between the hours of 4 p.m. - 4 a.m. ET," wrote the company. "Thank you so much for your continued patience. We will keep you updated."

Here's hoping everything goes smoothly and the Pokémon Bank isn't far off.

On the bright side, this must mean the Wii U and 3DS must've sold well enough to cause the servers to crash

I'm blaming Pokemon Bank.
I don't care what the real issue is, I'm blaming that.

It's seldom to see Nintendo get offline.

In either way, I have a few of TG16 games to be purchased from their store.

I was gonna download the Sonic Lost World DLC packs because I got the game for Christmas, lol.

Anyways, this is bittersweet news. On the one hand, Nintendo had so many people log on that it broke their servers!!!

On the other.....Nintendo's servers broke due to heavy load....

Yup, and everyone without a Wii U is saying Nintendo have failed yet again. Nobody cares that loads of people are trying to get on, gaming news sites will only tell it from the side that says Nintendo can't run servers/internet services properly.

Did you honestly think Nintendo was going to get a pass for anything remotely positive they do? I mean, it's funny. People treat this like it was the PSN security hack.
