Were you ever envious of Sega Genesis

SNES fans, what were your thoughts on Sega Genesis? I grew up on Nintendo and I had a friend across the Street with Sega. I remember playing it then coming home to my SNES and it wasnt the same (but I love the heck out of it and it remains my favorite console). As a kid though I found myself going over there all the time just to play it (and er to check on and chill with my buddy too).

It wasn't with the SNES/Sega, but I do remember having a Gamecube and PS2, and knowing people with the Xbox. It wasn't anything special or too different from what I already had, but there's always that part of me that wished I had one too.

I actually had the Genesis first

That said while I had the Genesis longer, I had more games in general(as well as my precious babies A Link to the Past and Castlevania IV) for the SNES

I've only seen one in my life, at my cousin's house. I don't talk to him anymore. But it DID have Mortal Kombat. So eh. Kudos.

I never owned a SNES or Genesis. As far as I know, no one in my neighborhood did either. It didn't really bother me.

I used to own Genesis before, played mostly Sega's based games like Super Hang-On, After Burner, Outrun, Sonic the Hedgehog & one other great Disney's game: Quackshot !

God, those days were awesome !

Hey all.

I didn't really care for the Genesis much. The snes just had way more games that I enjoyed. Especially rpg's. In all fairness, I believe that the Genesis had superior sports titles though. Especially NBA Jam. The Genesis' sound effects were better than the snes ones were.

At my daycare centre they had a Sega Genesis. The only people who played it were the older boys - I think they hogged it. I remember being envious since I never got the chance to play.

yoteca is an unknown quantity at this point

I received the SNES for Christmas 1997,shortly after that my parents got me a Mega Drive 2,and not long after that a neighbor of mine gave me his Genesis.Soo i was in the awesome position of owning both systems, but to be honest the SNES always had a special place in my heart and while i didn't have as many games for it as i did for my SEGA,i always preferred it.The graphics, the sound...oh that sound....the design if you will, especially the controller. To this day the SNES controller is my favourite of all. Anyway in conclusion i will say that, even if i didn't have a Genesis,i'd still prefer the SNES,despite the fact that most of my friends either had a Genesis or 8bit famiclones. Supa Nintendo was, is and always will be the best piece of gaming hardware ever produced !!
