Chris230291 is an unknown quantity at this point

Famicom SNES compatibility.

Hello. I live in the UK (PAL) and I have been offered a Super Famicom at a reasonable price, but before I buy it I have a few questions that I hope you guys can clear up.

Will the console work in the UK? From what I understand I just need a compatible NTSC TV or a device in the middle to convert the signal. Alternatively I read that I can mod it to function in PAL mode.

Will it play any game that fits in the slot (like UK games) or is there some kind of region lock? Looking online some people say that they don't, some people say they do.

Basically I want to know if I can use it like I would a native machine or if I'll have problems with compatibility.

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers,
Chris.

I don't believe that region lock existed during the days of the Super Nintendo, and I suspect that all you'll need is an adapter cable, if that. All you might need is an outlet adapter and the standard AV cables.
