First...well, second day at the RNC

As most of you know, most of the first day at the RNC was cancelled due to hurricane Gustav.
Since we talked about the DNC, it should be fair that we cover the RNC aswell.

President Bush, and his wife, Fred Thompson and Joe lieberman were the headliners tonight.
President Bush wasnt personally there, he talked by video.

So what did you think? Did anyone watch it?...

I though Fred Thompson's speech was very good! The very sad but courages story about John McCain and his service was very well said by him. Lieberman called upon independents and democrats to vote for McCain (Lieberman himself is a democrat/independant but supports John McCain)

I missed it, cause I'm at work.

I'm sure I'll read the coverage tonite though.
Then I'll let you know what I think.

Although I'm sure it won't be the most excited I've ever been.

Thats shocking....always thought it was Laura......

Well nevermind, hope GW and Fred have a long life together....

Kind of a dissapointment in terms of star power,
but it wasn't that bad.

But if you compared it to the DNC.....well.....if people were
to vote just based on what went on during the NC's.....

The Democrats would be in office,
and we would have our first ever african-american president.

Marvman, being a republican supporter for many years....
feels somehow compelled to vote for Obama...

Maybe because of his Kansas roots,
or how he talks.

But he gots a certain charisma about him.

Am still hoping Mike Huckabee would get the nod,
but not as long as McCain is alive....

As a fellow Navy serviceman,
Marvman salutes McCain.

But his agendas mirror Bush....

Rockn.

Even if I neglected the issues, like McCain voting against contraceptives, equal pay for equal work, the minimum wage increase (multiple times), comprehensive sex education, funding for unwed mothers, health benefits for unwed mothers, and voting for a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage, as well as voting alongside Bush's policies 95% of the time in the last year, etc. etc; If I was solely voting on the candidates personalities rather than their records, I would still vote for Obama.
I think he has a great personality, he's good at making speeches, and I think he'll be a boon to our international image. McCain's service to our country was great, but the guy's got the personality of a garden rake. I don't think he's the one to inspire this country to something greater...

Yes, this was slightly off topic...
I was just responding to what Marvman said...
