Disappointing Games Thread Volume 3

What are some games you have played lately that were let downs or just plain stinkers?

Probably Killer Is Dead, which I still loved and I don't regret buying mind you.

It's just that it lacked that special feeling I found in NMH, Lollipop Chainsaw, and Shadows of the Damned. It's probably my least favorite Suda game so far

I guess it's time to go ahead and vent about Bioshock Infinite. It's not so much a recent play as I got it near launch, but damn if I didn't walk away slightly disappointed. The game is just like every other FPS nowadays. Some fun was had with the vigors but they really felt like the secondary/grenade-type weapons in other games. The story gets interesting but ultimately isn't anything I'd write home about.

I mean, just talking about this game makes me bored. It's just Meh: The Video Game.

I thought I was the only one who felt this way. The story seems interesting enough but having to play the game for it feels like a chore. The gunplay just feels like something is missing. And Booker DeWitt, sexy voice aside, is one of the most bland protagonists I have experienced in gaming. At least so far. On the plus side, Elizabeth is the most useful AI sidekick.

I expected more since this was the game everyone was talking about early last year.

But I can't complain too much since I got it Free as a PS+ Member.

I have sort of a love-meh relationship with Need For Speed: Rivals. If only it had Most Wanted 2012's physics, polish, and car selection, then it would be perfect.

I agree with this.

Also the Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing are so boring. I'll stick to Torchlight.

I mean honestly the story blew my mind in the end. Although to be truthful the plot is ripped from a movie the same way Black OPs ripped it's Tyler Durden ending from Fight Club.

This is why i didn't enjoy the ending as much as i should have because i had seen it done before. It stuck to me for about 10 minutes after and then vanished.

I too also felt the shooting was bland, i would have liked it better if you could have held ALL the weapons instead of picking 2. The idea of 2 weapons and scarce plasmids/vigor worked well in Rapture because it's a city that wouldn't have supplys of guns everywhere but in Columbia every tom dick and harry had guns so why can't booker?

TLDR; If i had to describe Infinite to somebody i would say it's like a balloon filled with air slowly deflating around the room. Only to end with that last minute BLUUUUTTTTTT(fart) sound.

I also want to give a special mention to Skyrim because i still prefer Oblivion. Get it on PC, get a HD texture Mod and you can't even say Skyrim has better graphics anymore. Story line, quests and even the sheer places to visit were so much better and the backstory was interesting.

DLC? Shivering Isles anyone? Sheogorath was amazing!
Skyrim offers Dragonborn, i can't think of anything more bland if i'm honest.

TLDR; GREY FOX FOR EMPEROR

I haven't been disappointed with any purchases in recent memory, but one game that comes to mind after playing it a little while ago was Sonic Adventure 2. It was good for its time, but once the nostalgia wears off you can tell that it hasn't aged well at all.

But it had those Knuckles rap songs. I can picture you cruising down the street in a convertible jamming to Pumpkin Hill.

Heh. The music and cheesy dialogue never gets old, but the gameplay was lacking.
