Palin's speech aswell as others at the RNC

Tonight was the night were we all saw Sarah Palin since her apperance when John McCain announced that she will be her VP.
So tonight had big expectations for her.

also, Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, and Rudy Giuliani also made speechs (who all ran for president earlier on)

So what did you think?

I thought the night was Very good for Republicans. They attacked Obama in good ways and really stood behind Palin.

With a shovel of course.....

Well, having not seen the RNC speeches made by the former
Presidential candidates beforehand.

Marvman probably guesses they "attacked" or argued about his
lack of experience when it comes to matters of National Security,
his health care plan, his environmental significancies, immigration,
same sex issues, and various platforms where he is weak in (if he has any).

Probably. Will have to check it out when Marv has time.

Rockn.

The democrats did the same things to John McCain. Its what a convention is about. fire up the base, and hit the other canidate hard.
Both conventions done it. i just thought the republicans did it in a more clever way.
Other then just linking McCain to Bush, which the dems did.

Well linking Mccain to bush isnt bad considering they are all related... Even Obama and bush and Mccain and hillary...

But attacking in any way is bad.

Well it's better than Conservatives linking Obama to Osama, which is a load of ****.

I liked the speeches that I heard. Joe Liberman, like always, was his sell-out pig self and made a dumb state.

Quote:
You may wonder what a Democrat is doing at the Republican National Convention? I'm here because country matters more than party.
I would have preferred to hear this.

You may wonder what a Democrat is doing at the Republican National Convention? I'm here to announce that ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US! You are on the way to destruction.
McCain says

What you say!!
Then...

Quote:
You have no chance to survive make your time. Ha ha ha ha ...
That would have been more enticing.

Shit, he said that?
I should have watched it...

I really don't like Sarah Palin.
Mainly because of her stance on the issues, nothing personal.
I just think that if she and McCain win this election they'll take women and this country back twenty-five years.

I'm gonna read the news about her speech. I no longer have cable...

And how are they going to do that?

just because shes not a liberal women who is a pro-choice activist.
How can women activist groups hate her so much. If they really believed in progressing womens standing, then they should help any women, even if she is a conservative.

But NO, there all liberals who just want THEIR views to run the country.
Its the same thing with groups that promote black people in politics.

*sigh*
You just contradicted yourself.
You say any women's rights group should help any woman.
Then you denounce groups that promote blacks in politics.
By your logic, shouldn't blacks promote any black person to advance the black race?

FYI, not every woman is a shining example of womanhood.
How is a woman who is pro-life in all cases, even rape and incest, yet at the same time against proper sex education and contraceptive freedom (a basic woman's right is sexual freedom) helping women's rights? She is also pro-gun and pro-war (while still being pro-life...go figure.)

She basically stands by John McCain on all of the issues, and as far as HE'S concerned, women should run scared from him...
He has voted multiple times against Equal Work For Equal Pay (a bill giving women equal pay to men) and in a recent interview, when asked what he thought about a vote he made in congress banning funding by insurance companies for birth control, while VIAGRA is still payed for by insurance, John McCain said he didn't want to answer questions like that.

Freakin' VIAGRA gets payed for, but birth control doesn't?
How does this help the economy when we have millions of teenage mothers on welfare, and millions of kids in foster homes being abused and growing up just as misguided? It's all a cycle, and we need to break it by at the very least instituting a fully comprehensive sex education requirement for our schools, and making contraceptives more widely available.

Sarah Palin does not promote the welfare of our youth, only the welfare of the unborn. Her policy seems to be "save them in the womb and sh** on 'em when their older".
For the record, I am against abortion. It is an awful practice that should be phased out. There is no arguing that. But banning it outright without reducing the NEED for abortions is counterproductive.

Sarah Palin is not the vote for women simply because she's a woman.
She is taking us back to the stone age because of her dogmatic, unrealistic beliefs (BTW, George Bush won the last two elections on the grounds that he would end abortion, and what did all the one issue voters get for voting for the worst president in US history? Nada.)

I stand by what I said.

how did i contredict myself?

a example, Clarence thomas didnt get backing from the NAACP, because he was against alffirmitive action. How can the NAACP not support a black man?
Pro-choice groups arnt going to support Palin, but women activists who want a womens standing to improve in the world should back her. now im talking about the activists for women, not the average women who votes for whom she choses. Thats HER chose, im not saying a women has to vote for McCain/Palin cause theres a women running...
just the same that black people shouldnt vote for Obama cause hes black. (but ALOT are)

and wth...
saying Palin dosent support youth. You make the same argument in every response.
