Tekken X Street Fighter this year?

http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2014/f...-2014-release/

Namco's side of the crossover, a Tekken style game guest starring the Street Fighter cast, is listed as being slated for sometime this year. Street Fighter X Tekken was a commercial flop and fans have been concerned that Namco consequently canceled the sister game. But it doesn't seem over yet.

I was watching a lot of youtube videos for this.

According to what i've seen online and read the reason Namco are still pushing for this is because of the lack of decent Tekken games at the moment. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 was supposed to be their big hit but it flopped so they used it as a testing ground. Hence why it's the first tekken to include fireballs.

Although from what i can gather this hasn't been truly confirmed yet and waiting for E3 this year.

inb4 some jumped up tekken fan tells me it's still popular.

I don't see any Tekken game at tournaments or professional gaming jams do you?

I thought Tekken was the best-selling fighting franchise of all time?
I guess not anymore. They should have released the games side by side.

Tekken's popularity has been winding down a lot lately. Heck, it's not even a main game at EVO this year when crap like Injustice is.

On the topic at hand, I'm glad to see they're still going through with this crossover.

So that explains Tekken Revolution.

I am more interested to see how the Street Fighter special moves transition into the Tekken format, as well as the art style.

Injustice is actually a brilliant game. I always took you as an fellow fanatic so i have no idea why you would hate on Injustice. There is some easy to pick up/cheap characters like Green Arrow but EVERY fighter has them. It's a pretty good game and the combos system is solid. Hence why it's a main staple at Evo this year.

I'll definitely play it while i'm there even though i'm no good whatsoever.

Well i forget which girl it is in TT2 that has the fireball but that's basically what they used to "test" projectiles in a Tekken environment.

Everybody else works, it's going to be weird though because in a Tekken 3D environment people like Balrog(Boxer) and Vega(Mask) will probably the easier to use characters as opposed to Shoto's this time around. Doesn't take a brain to think why.

Shoryuken will/would be one of the WORST tekken moves.
Although they will probably negate it by making it move forward before he uppercuts similar to Kazuya's God Fist.

Infact, even the Tatsumaki(whirlwind kick) will be a lot like Kazuya's spinning kick.

Either way, i'm looking forward to playing it and maybe seeing it at a few tournaments.

I don't think SFXTK was a bad game infact i still love the engine, design and the execution/combo system. I think it's all the bad press it got for hidden dlc on disc and such.

I don't think the roster will be the same as it was in the first game but picturing characters like Vega (mask), Dhalsim, and Bison (airline pilot) is weird in Tekken.

Word is they might also try to make it available on the new gen consoles as well.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure that Injustice is a well built game, but MK styled fighters have never been my cup of tea. Never liked playing them and probably never will, but hey, people like what they like. Plus, it was pretty terrible to watch at Evo last year and a lot of people were hoping it wouldn't come back.

Really interested to see how the Street Fighter characters will translate into the Tekken style, though I'm worried with how projectiles will be handled
