JAWS UNLEASHED

Developed by Appaloosa Interactive and published by Majesco Games, this title was released on May 23, 2006 for the PS2 and XBOX consoles. The story is basically that Amity Island is looking to improve it's economy by working with huge companies such as Environplus. All is well until a whole bunch of new tourists start coming combined with the industrial action attracts this beast to come and check things out. When one of the CEO's son is eaten by the shark he hires a famous shark hunter to go after the shark and kill it. That's basically it. They really didn't take their time to perfect a decent storyline, but how much can you really add to a game created after the movie. There's a monster shark out there going around killing people and destroying a whole bunch of crap in the process.

The game is mission based with a few side-quests and timed races. The 30 or so side-quests have an individual difficulty adjustment for the player. Each mission has it's own specific set of challenges which can be pretty annoying but humorous at times, to complete. The first couple of missions are like a tutorial to give the player a chance to learn some important stuff about how the game's mechanics work and what you need to know about the shark before you begin going out and killing whatever poor soul and his boat gets in your way. The game has many different commands to learn about your shark. Some when mastered, can make you and your shark's life much easier. You can still complete missions without being super skilled in the shark's abilities, but as I said above, it makes life easier. There are a bunch of collectibles to be found during your game as well. Sadly, the game has 2 rather annoying glitches. Sometimes your camera angle is slow at keeping up the speed of the shark and its many maneuvers. The game at times can also freeze causing you to have to reset and start from your last point in the game.

The graphics are excellent and the sound is fair. As you go about completing your missions and side-quests you can earn points to upgrade your shark's skills, making him a true force to be reckoned with! The damage you inflict will increase along with your speed and many other aspects. Pump up the abilities that you feel makes your life easier and at the same time kick some underwater ass! After certain early missions are completed, the game lets you go hog wild all through the ocean and doesn't restrict you to certain areas like in the beginning stages of the game. This game may not have been a blockbuster, but in all fairness, it's a real hoot going around eating divers and destroying property. Should you have immense trouble completing certain missions, the game also comes with awesome cheats!

Hi Mable. How are you?
Yeah. I'm glad also. It got to be a pain in the ass.
