Luminous Arc 2: Will
Luminous Arc 2
Publisher: Atlus Platform: Nintendo DS Release Date: (US) November 18, 2008 (Japan) May 13, 2008 (EU) ???? Storyline: For the four past million years, the world has been at peace. The King of Carnava with a fair hand and treated his people well. The Magic Associate made sure that magic was never used for evil. But monsters called: The Beast Fiends suddenly appeared from nowhere. These fiends were monstrous, attacking the people of Carnava. causing death and despair. Master Mattias, the leader of the Magic Associate and the greatest wizard, took it upon himself to vanish these monstrous fiends with the help of the power of the forbidden demon blade, Rega. The battle was huge and lasted forever but when the dust settled, Mattias was dead. The people of Carnava have recovered from the Beast Fiend attacks but the world is not at peace. Carnava has developed a special knight squad to fight off the fiends. The Magic Associate has been having problems too, Shadow Frost witch has discovered dark magic and now created her private war against the Magic Associate. Roland, one of the special knight squad, is thrust into battle at one of the Magic Associate labs and now has magic powers. This is where the story begins. Overview: This game has nothing to do with the first game besides the witch conflict. There is a lot of new things added to the game like updated battle system and more chapters. So let's start with the battle system. Battle System: Luminous Arc 2 still uses the same turn-based system as it's predecessor but it's a little reworked. In the first Luminous Arc, you used the Flash Drive attacks by gathering FD points. Well in this game it does more, Flash Drive points are used on items and standard skills to boost effectiveness. Luminous Arc 2's interface has some work done on it too. Graphics are slightly better, I can't really tell the difference. The control are reworked too. The controls were annoying in the first game. See control for more details. :] A new feature to the game is the Lapis option. These magical stones boost character stats, status effects to attacks, and combat benefits. Another new feature is the Engagement system, Roland (Main character see cast for more details) lets customize your skills and stats by accessing the magical power of one of the witches you have on your team but he can only do this once a battle. The intermissions are back. Basically between battles, you have a chance of building a good relationship with your companions. You have to answer a question and if you get it right, you are rewarded with an item. Features: Let's start with the wifi. The wifi option is still the same but with a twist, two player pitted their teams against each other. This only available after Chapter 13 of the main story. Level Matchmaking is new feature to the wifi option. When "Play with anyone" is selected it compares the levels of your characters and allows you to fight someone within your level range. The game also has multiple endings and more side quests. You buy this game, it comes with a bonus soundtrack CD. That was nice of them. Controls: The people of Altus fixed the controls. The controls from the first game were awkward. Instead of switching between stylus and buttons, the two are now merged for your enjoyment. Cast: Sorry, I couldn't find anything pictures small enough to fix the thread. Go to the main site to see the pictures. Roland - Main Character, Aspired to be a knight like his older brother, Rasche. He trains under his father, Steven. Rina - Childhood friends with Roland and Rasche, and the younger sister of Steiner. She is an expert marksman and is training to become a knight alongside with Rasche and Roland. I predict lovers. ![]() Rasche - A lancer who trains with his father. He is cynical and shoots his mouth off a lot. There is too many characters to include in this preview so I'll let you go check it out for yourself. ![]() Screenshots: ![]() This is an example of what a flash drive looks like ![]() This is what looks like during the battle. The graphics haven't changed that much. ![]() Random Cutscene Related Links: YouTube - Luminous Arc 2 Trailer Luminous Arc 2 Official Website Last edited by Ling; 09-15-2008 at 11:13 AM. |
