Backwards compatibility?

Is Nintendo ever going to make a sysyem that is backwards compatible with all their past systems? or do a re-release of the games for the wii or a next gen console?
Take a hint from playstation.

Cool

For your first question,

It's going to be very difficult to enable a single console to
play, let alone run all the games of the past systems,
not to mention it would cost Nintendo millions of dollars
in development costs.
So most likely no. As cartridges are outdated.
(All Past Systems....Do you also mean the Game Boy versions too?)

For your second question,

There is the Virtual Console on the Wii.
But a "re-release" as in a remake?

It would not make sense business wise,
to do such.

But it does seem to be happening to Goldeneye.
As they are remaking it for WiiWare (source unconfirmed).

Not to mention the various remakes of Resident Evil,
and Final Fantasy for DS.

But Nintendo themselves have not done so.

So "re-releases"....
unlikely as well.

But the PS3 has a great system in place.

And one of the few key ideas Nintendo may want
to take away from the PS3 in their next system.

Rockn.

Wiiware and Virtual Console

For centuries, the seasons have followed a set pattern. But then things start to go awry in the forest. Suddenly it's snowing while the sun shines and flowers bloom while leaves are falling. Then a strange purple goo appears.

...What?
Anyway, back to the topic. I agree with what everyone has said so far. The Virtual Console is really great. You can play heaps of classic games on it! ^_^
And the fact that you can play Gamecube games too is sweet as well.
