Any retro modders?

Anyone here mod retro consoles? I'm proud to say that I mod SNES and Nintendos, mostly taking out lockout chips, remodelling cart slots and replacing batteries. Does anyone else here mod retro console or am I showing my age

Uh, why even bother, you buy the console, and use it for what its purpose was, to play games, nothing else, god, do something interesting with your life.

Sometimes I might mod for desgin, but it's mostly for conviniene purposes.

Here are some examples (not my own work as I do not know how to get my photos off the camera and onto the computer)




As for other purposes, I can do the following:

NES:
Replace dead cart batteries.
Fit a re-designed cart holder (means all you have to do is shove game in instead of waggling it in, slowly sliding it, estimating the degree of insertion etc..................)
Disable reigonal Lockout
Do work as shown as above, and other works (some similair to what Ellie showed)
Change power LED light.

SNES:
Replace dead batteries
Disable reigonal Lockout
re-design cart slot (so all games regardless of origin fit into Super Nintendo.)
Change LED light.
Alter outer shell (same with nes)

Okay so they look pretty good, but to be honest that's just messing with a design that Nintendo intended to stay that way.

Your joking, right? I don't see how Nintendo would care if you messed with there design, many people do it, and they know about it.
