3 Resident Evil games in line for the Wii

Quote:
Capcom has announced that a sequel to Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles will be coming to the Wii this winter, as well as remakes of two popular GameCube Resi games.

Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles will focus mainly on the story of Resident Evil 2. As in the previous game, it'll be a first-person lightgun game and promises to fill in more gaps in the Resident Evil storyline.

Naturally, since Resident Evil 2 was available on the PlayStation and N64, the Darkside Chronicles re-telling has been given a hefty lick of paint. Leon Kennedy now looks like he did in Resident Evil 4.

If first-person lightgun shooters aren't your thing then you may be more interested in Capcom's new "Resident Evil Classics" line, which consists of older Resident Evil games being given Wii remakes (much like Resident Evil 4 did) and released at a budget price.

The two "classics" confirmed are Resident Evil 0 and the GameCube remake of Resident Evil. Both will be updated with Wii controls.
I am slightly disappointed by this news.

Not about the follow up from Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles but about the new remakes coming to the Wii.

Resident Evil (the original) has already been ported to the Gamecube and I see no need for it to be remade yet again.

Zero was only just released on the Gamecube too, I would have liked to see an older game such as RE2 or RE3 get a complete do over, spruced up graphics and the works.

Nevertheless I will probably buy the Zero remake, I hope that an over the shoulder camera view as in RE4 is introduced.

I think this is Capcom being lazy.

I don't really like railshooters, but REUC was alright. And if the new one focuses on Leon and RE2, then i will buy it.

But the remakes i would only get if they made it over-the-shoulder, which im sure they Won't do.

Resident Evil 0 is already on the Wii in Japan. I was wondering when they would get the Wii version over here. Anyways, the only changes in the RE0 Wii version is the ability to use the Classic Controller, Gamecube controller, or Remote and Nunchuck. That's it. So RE1 will probably be the same story.

RE 0-4 were all available on the Gamecube, and so far 0, 1, and 4 are coming to the Wii. I say just bring 2 and 3 over and call it a day. Let's update the graphics, though.

As far as being lazy, consider this: video game developers are being bought out left and right. The global economy sucks. Even though the games were on the Gamecube, comparatively few people bought it. The series has seen new life with 4 and 5, and it's popular this year and the last. These titles are cheap to make and will be profitable. It's pure business sense.

Well, I own every Resident Evil games out there (even the unpopular gameboy ones) except for RE4, and I'm just saying that instead of Re-making this all, they should make a type of Umbrella Chronicles plot, but w/o the railshooting. They should place it on Resident Evil 0,1,2,3,4,Veronica X, and Oubreaks 1&2. That way, you can save money, know all of the details on every important past game, but keep EVERY single scenario/story line. But I don't think all of that data can be packed into one disk...

Well, it would be really nice if they bundled some of them together. For example, 0 and 1 would go well together, since they take place only hours apart.

I wonder if Darkside Chronicles will reveal how Leon Lived, after he was infected.
