Hardcore Games Nintendo Must Announce At E3.

After several disappoint E3s in a row, Nintendo is hoping to make amends with their hardcore fan base at E3 2009. In order to do so, they must announce several hardcore titles. Here are a few suggestions.

Kirby Wii
Kirby hasnít appeared on a Nintendo home console in traditional form since Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards nine years ago. A new project was in development during the Gamecube era that ultimately ended up being a Nintendo Wii game. While the current condition of Kirby Wii is unknown, Nintendo should give hardcore fans something to cheer about by officially announcing it at E3 2009.

Factor 5 Title
Factor 5 hasnít been the same since they left Nintendo. Fortunately, the two well-matched couple (which was responsible for the Star Wars Rogue Squadron series) is getting together once again. Whether if it is a new Pilotwings or Kid Icarus game that might be revealed at E3 2009, the collaboration is certainly a welcoming sign for hardcore fans of Nintendo.

Retro Studios Title
The developer of the Metroid Prime series has remained dangerously silent ever since they released Metroid Prime 3: Corruption in 2007. Not to mention that several key members left the company last year. That didnít stop several rumors concerning a possible Zelda game made by Retro Studios from surfacing. Whatever title they are working on, Nintendo has to reveal it at E3 2009 to appease fans.

Mario/Zelda
It has been two years since Super Mario Galaxy came out and three since The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess launched aside the Nintendo Wii. Nintendo promised last year that they have new titles in development for their top two franchises. While The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks was already revealed for the Nintendo DS, hardcore fans also wanted new mainline titles for the Wii. A new Mario or Zelda game on the Nintendo Wii is the easiest way to satisfy the growingly impatient fans at E3 2009.
Thoughts?

I'd like to see a new Mario, Zelda, or Pikmin. Kirby doesn't interest me all that much.

I think this year's E3 will be mostly about the DS games. Still, I hope Nintendo has something big up their sleeves for the Wii. I'd personally live to see some great first-party WiiWare games sprout up. What about some retro titles getting touched up for WiiWare? Like a brand new Ice Climbers game? Or a Game & Watch title?

I reckon this years E3 will be focusing quite heavily on the DSi. They'll really be wanting to sell some consoles there. With the announcement of Spirit Tracks for DS, I don't think there'll be a Wii Zelda game for a while. Another year at least. Although, I would love a new Zelda or Mario game. Kirby would be good, too.

Kirby on the Wii.
I can only imagine.

Also, does that really count as a 'hardcore' game?

Hmmm.... here's what I see..

A New Zelda (TP was originally a GCN only project, so this will be the first game specifically designed for the Wii)
Punch Out!

As for the DS:
Spirit Tracks
Kirby platformer

Whether or not there even is any such thing as a "hardcore" game is debatable.

I'd like to see Kid Icarus, but other than that, I'm happy with PKMN G/S, a new Mario, and a new Metroid.
Oh, and No More Heroes (even though it's already announced...)

Indeed, Miyamoto said that GCN's TP is the canon one.
