Favorite Pokemon generation?

I know a lot of people call Ruby/Sapphire the worst out of the four but I adore them. Everything about those games are memorable to me. I grew up with the original and got Gold/Silver the day they came out but nothing can beat Ruby/Sapphire in my mind. I recently started a new game and I'm hooked on the thing all over again.

My list is:
1. Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald
2. Gold/Silver/Crystal
3. Red/Blue/Yellow
4. Diamond/Pearl/Platinum

EDIT: I didn't put the FireRed/LeafGreen series on the poll because they're remakes.

I'd say Gold/Silver/Crystal. Crystal was my first Pokemon game and the one I enjoyed the most. The whole thing felt a little simpler than the newer games, what with poffins and all those other weird stuff. I don't know, it just had a charm to it that I enjoyed as a kid. And the added Kanto region. It was just perfect.

I can almost say the same thing. Crystal was also my first Pokémon game; I grew up with it. It was by far the most enjoyable Pokémon generation. I also like the D/P/Pl generation, but not as much as the already mentioned.

Red/Blue was the only reason I bought a Game Boy. I loved those games to death and still find myself coming back to replay them to this day, even with the remakes out. Plus, the first generation has almost all of my favorite Pokemon. Once it got to the 3rd, I couldn't keep track.

To me, the purest form of Pokemon was Red/Blue.

Don't get me wrong, I love all the other games, especially Gold/Silver, but I grew up with my Blue version. It was the reason I first got a Gameboy, you actually had to work to find a Pikachu, the Old Man glitch was awesome, and catching Mewtwo felt like an accomplishment.
Plus, the original 150 PKMN were the best, and how many versions of Pidgey and Rattata do we need?

The thing I liked the best about G/S/C were it's references to the original.

Although, the FR/LG remakes were awesome, and I would say probably better than the original, simply because of the beefed up graphics, item management, and the fact that you can run, not just walk...

Hmm......

RBY was broken. The Physics were waaaaaay to powerful.
GSC was okay, best single player by far. The multiplayer was fixed too
RSE have no redeeming qualities at all. The single player was boring and the multiplayer was too defensive
DPP is really great. It has a new combat system that works waaaaaay better and really opens up the game more. The storyline was meh but the multiplayer was by far the best yet.

I juts hope the GSC remakes end up having the best single and multiplayer.

Im going with 2nd gen. I love the built from the 1st.

The 2nd generation had the best story out of all of them, 3rd gen was pretty much meh altogether, nothing was really good about save the pokemon. 4th has the best combat system, but that's because they had time to get it right, either way Online is amazing. And 1st inspired it all.
