The game is set in the Sinnoh region of the fictional world in which the series takes place. Sinnoh is a habitat for nearly 493 different species of Pokémon, some of which are exclusive to the region. Like previous Pokémon games,
chronicle the adventures of a young Pokémon trainer as he/she trains and battles Pokémon while also thwarting the schemes of a criminal organization. The games add many new features, such as Internet play over the Nintendo Wi-Fi and changes to battle mechanics, while including older game concepts such as Poke Contests.
This game's 2.5D graphics(2D with some 3D aspects) are absolutely gorgeous, using the capabilities of the DS in a whole new level compared to other games, which includes Diamond and Platinum. Nothing looks grainy as compared with the last game which is good. Also their are better images used before you fight a Gym Leader/ Elite Four Member, and also your Scarf is cleanly visible at all times. Another enhancement is the Pokemon motions in battle, which are nice and crisp, as oppose to you just seeing your Poke just jump on your side, while your opponent sees facial expressions and what not, this game shows you what your opponent sees, just from the backside of course.
The forgotten one, GIRATINA
Its your standard adventure game, with a few twists thrown in of course. Platinum brought two importnant characters, that DP didn't have. One is Looker, the Interpol cop, and the other is Charon, a member of Team Galactic. Of course this leads to a few different scenarios then in DP. Another interesting place is the Distortion World, the home of Giratina. Also with the special Items like the Secret Key, Membership Card, and Oaks letter eventually being available over Wi-Fi, you don't need to go to a pokemon conference to get those items to make the story longer.
The new Main Character Models, note their more wintery appearanceControls/Gameplay 10/10
Works better then ever enough said. The only known glitch is Missingno but that was built in on purpose.
The Pokemon of Time and Space, Dialga and Palkia!
The sound is enjoyable, and sounds great on the DS, but after awhile I noticed it started getting repetative. Of course I've logged 126 hours on Platinum, and another 267 hours on Diamond, so maybe its because I play TOO MUCH. Anyway, for first time players you are in for a treat.
Distortion World. Last time I take my own screenshot.
I recommend you buy it. Even if you own DP, the added material is worth it. Specifically the enhanced Wi-Fi Connection. If you still arn't sure, thought the last pokemon game you played disappointed you, or you own DP, then I say at least rent it. You maybe suprised at what you find.
