WiiWare is bad

2D platformers are offered that are easily recreated on low spec computers.

N64 games are offered, but those who love the N64, like I, have one. Those who don't are getting a poor choice of titles.

We're presented with glitzy Wiimote action with poor control and limited options.

Oh, there's that 3D epic spinoff, "Anime #3974673" or something like that, in which your responsibilities are to spend ACTUAL money and to have NPC's go off and do things for you.

What gives?

what's up World of Goo, Megaman 9, Bit.Trip Beat, Super Meat Boy (not out yet)

etc etc

last year there were more worthwhile WiiWare games than there were actual Wii games.

I love my LostWinds and Wild West Guns (although the price for WWG was a bit much). Onslaught was a game you could play online with friends and had great FPS control.

wiiware just takes away from VC games added(waiting on Top gear 1 & 2) but wiiware can be useful for sequels to older games. Donkey kong country IV would be wicked btw!

The main problem I have with WiiWare is the size limitation. There's only so much room on the Wii's drive, so they limited the size of files you could have as WiiWare titles, which means the games are generally very short and limited. If not for this problem, I'd say it would be a great platform from which to launch a new Kid Icarus, Ice Climbers, or even a Metroid II remake from.

I have 28 games from the wii shop, so an SD card was neccesary.

These are 2D puzzles. Sure, I break out the 2600 for giggles, but the Wii is much more capable. I'd love it if someone tried to mimic Rare's 3D style using new characters. That would be some good entertainment. We need huge free roam games with camera control. Twould be good if we could get some models better looking than Zelda's. What art schools did those designers flunk?
