Derek We have a Nintendo Fan in the Making

DS or PSP

Well I've been thinking about this for some time now and I was curious as to which you all believed is a better buy. I know this is probably a biased opinion due to a Nintendo based forum but please, be truthful.

I actually think both are a good deal. Both have their ups and downs, and it really depends on what you are into. Yes, I am a Nintendo fan, and I like the DS, but I am not a totally biased "OMG PSP sux" kind of guy. PSP has a lower battery life than the DS, and the PSP can play music (DS can too, but you need Play-Yan).

Overall, I think both are equally as good.

I own both a DS and a PSP. Having said that, if you want to play games, the DS is better. PSP is sort of like a "I have everything in one" machine. It's a bit bulkier and has a nice big screen for movies etc.

DS has much better games than PSP however. I bought the DS mainly to play Pokemon, but there are so many more games like the Ace Attorney series that kept me playing. On the other hand, the only thing thats stopping me from selling my PSP is Pressure Play and Pro Evo, so it is a bit hard-pressed for games.

So basically,

games = DS
everything else = PSP

(This is without homebrew)

I own both, and I can't really pick one because they do both have their own pros and cons. That said, I own more games for the DS because it does have the better library. As for the PSP, it has a couple games that you can only play on it. Like Final Fantasy Tactics and Crisis Core.

I have both, but I seem to find myself playing my DS more often. They both have a decent library of games for all types of gamers, but the DS has more to offer in terms of fun factor, I think. I'm all for playing Ratchet & Clank, Disgaea, or Ridge Racer on the go, but none of those can compare to New Super Mario Bros., Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, Ninja Gaiden DS, or anything else the DS has to offer.

I had both. Got rid of the psp cause even though there is a lot more games then people think when your playing most of them it just feels like not much thought was put into it. Even though this site is for Nintendo fans I don't think it would be bias due to the fact if you did a comparison of units sold of the psp and DS you will notice that the world agrees that the DS is the better hand held. What it comes down to is that the DS took innovation to create, the PSP took a bunch of guys saying " how much crap can we stuff into a hand held and still make it affordable" but it lacks the quality games it was originally design to do.

The games are a let down on PSP, they are the only reason you should consider not getting one.

The lack of extra features on DS the only reason you shouldn't get a DS.
