Random Skype People

For all those of you who own Skype, this might be happening to you as well..

I keep getting all these wierd people adding me, telling me thay have made me a new profile and all this crap, when clearly i have never met them before in my life. I'm pretty sure the links they send are to some sort of virus, and i just wondered if anyone of you knows if i can stop getting these messages.

They are really annoying me and i'm worried that if someone else is using my computer, and clicks the ranom link thinking it's one of my freinds sending it to me that it could get me loads of viruses, even though i do have a good anti virus software.

Any enlightenment as to this problem, and how to resolve it, or even to just say that you have the problem as well would be most apprectiated.

Ta!

They're automated bots that randomly add people to advertise to you. If nothing else, you can't really stop them, you just have to ignore them.

It's something Skype will have to fix themselves. There's nothing you can really do to stop it.

Okay then. But it's like, the same few people who keep sending the same message over and over, i get it like a couple of times a week. I was just wondering if there was some kind of user ban or something i could put on them to shut them up. Hmmm.

I don't think so really. You can block them, but if they keep coming back, then obviously it's not the same person. It's the same company probably with 203844 different accounts.

Hmm yeah i guess so.

If enough people in here reply saying they have the same problem it might be worth getting into contact with Skype over it.

Just a little question completely irrelivant to this topic, how do you get points on here? Because it only seems to have gone up when i made a new thread.. =S

Ell has a little shameless behaviour in the past

Did it just randomly stop or did you do something to stop it?

It randomly stops, and then randomly starts again. You can set your account to people only seeing you online if they have you added. That works sometimes. It's how I have mine set.

Go to Tools > Options > Privacy, and then select "Only allow people in my contact list to contact me"

Simple.
