Reggie: It's a mistake to say core gamers have been ignored.

But Reggie Fils-Aime, President and COO of Nintendo of America, believes that it’s a mistake to say that hardcore gamers have been ignored.

“…But I think it’s a mistake to say that we’ve ignored the gamer or that we don’t have products for the core gamer. I mean, New Super Mario Bros. has every gamer excited. Just the little tidbits that we’ve shown about the new Zelda for Wii has gamers tremendously excited. We’re going to continue to bring great content both to that experienced player as well as the brand new player, and that’s what we do really well.”
Thoughts?

he's right. there are more core games on the Wii than on other systems. most people will disagree, but they can be wrong, fine with me

One of the few times I agree with something Nintendo said. There's more of them on the Wii. The definition of "core" is being twisted into meaning something it's not.

Yes. People don't know what core games are anymore.

Also yes. I've been saying this for ages. As in, been saying it for two generations of consoles.

I agree with his statement, and I think there's plenty of core game on the Wii. I've had my system since launch and still haven't gotten around to buying all of the core games that I want.

Is that due to lack of funds, or lack of time? Mine is the former, sadly. There's a ton of games I want for a Wii, but I lack a Wii. How Ironic.

It's probably just because I own additional systems and have other hobbies as well. However, between the Wii and the DS, I think I'd still have a hard time keeping up even without the other interests. I play a lot of games, too, and barely any of them are casual. It could also be the fact that I'm a completion freak when it comes to games, though.

Ah. Fair enough. I own only one system at the present time, so doing much in the way of gaming is almost impossible for me anyways. Makes sense though.

I must agree that the games coming out this season seem more promising than last season, but I am still not satisfied with the amount of games that come out that I would like.
