Manny Pacquiao KO's Miguel Cotto; Becomes WBA Welterweight Champ

Pacman(left); Cotto (right)

In probably one of THE Greatest boxing fights ever to have happened in the history of boxing, the pound-for-pound greatest boxer in the world Manny "the Pacman" Pacquiao went face to face with the WBA Welterweight Champ, Miguel "Junto" Cotto; last Saturday Night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas for the SUPER FIGHT of the YEAR.

Blood, Blood Everywhere, or at least on Cotto's Face.

It was the power and speed of the challenger; Manny P; versus the grit and courage of the champ; Cotto. And boy did this fight ever live up to the hype. As from the opening bell Cotto and Manny came out swinging.
With Cotto winning Round 1, but with Pacman winning all the other 11 Rounds leading up to Round 12, where Cotto was summarily TKO'd.
Cotto stood tall, never backing down, taking 11-7 hit combinations from Pacquiao, flinching in pain, busted up, but still taking it like a man. Manny seemed to get stronger as the fight wore on, getting swelling in his eyes, and cheecks from the uppercuts of Cotto, but in the end Manny Pacquiao prevailed, as he was just too fast and too strong. Knocking Cotto down 3 times, before the ref called the fight, due to Cotto's extensive facial damages.

Stay there beatch!!!

Dude......You just got KNOCKED THE F*CK OUT!!!

With hands in the air and championship belt in hand, Manny Pacquaio is the new WBA Undisputed Welterweight Champion of the World.
With Boxing experts and followers alike, dubbing Manny Pacquiao one of the Greatest Boxers of All Time, with the likes of Marvelous Marvin Hagler and Sugar Ray Leonard & Robinson.

After having KO'd both Hatton and Cotto, who is left?
The once pound for pound greatest fighter in the world,
Floyd Mayweather Jr., if he's brave enough and if the money is there,
will take challenge Pacman in what will perhaps the most televised boxing even of the modern era. The Dream Fight of the Century.

You obviously don't follow boxing and don't know it.

TKO (Technical Knockout) is the matter of the Knockout,
when it is scored in a fighter's WIN/LOSS statistics, a TKO is the same
as a KO, like for instance when you hear a fighter being introduced by a ring announcer that he/she has won 40 or so fights by "way of Knockout"
they also carry on and consider TKOs the same as standard KOs.
In essence, a TKO is the same as a KO. TKO is just that the other fighter
went down 3 times, a KO is that he didn't get up before the count of 10.

So, they are summarily the same if you follow boxing, which Marvman forgot not alot of people do around here......

BTW, do you have any other opinion on this thread or others besides pointing out stupid dumb unnecessary grammar or irrelevant matters of un-interest? Not everybody is perfect, and to see someone keep on telling people that what they do is wrong, is not a very pleasant thing to see,
especially since some members have been here longer than others, and have been mods here before.

Rockn.
Actually TKO is quite different. A KO is a knockout; the guy didn't get back up after a ten-count. A TKO is awarded when your opponent is no longer able to defend themselves and it is unsafe for the match to continue. So they are not the same at all. And since they are not the same, I am interested in knowing how the match ended.

And no, I have no opinion on this thread, since I didn't bother to finish reading it until I found out how the fight ended, a question which you still have no answered.

And who cares if you've been a mod before? Why even bring that up? Do you think I treat anyone differently than anyone else? If you don't like the questions I ask, there is an option on this forum where you can prevent my posts from displaying for you. I suggest you do that.

Or you can just answer my question.

Rockn.

EDIT: Just read your post again, and man, you really don't get it. I asked you which it was, not what the difference is. And when announcers say someone has won a certain about of matches "by way of knockout," they're referring to KOs. TKOs and KOs are recorded as separate statistics. And then you assume I don't follow boxing because I asked a question about one match?

Your post is just insulting.

Apparently the Manny-Floyd fight is rumored to be in March.

Also, Manny looks like someone that would be on Tekken.

I object to this. The fact remains that my question has yet to be answered, and for asking it, I was insulted and provided with false information. I hardly see how I could be associated with undermining the integrity of the thread.

I pick Floyd to dismantle Pacquiao through 12 rounds en route to a unanimous decision.
