Ideas for a Zelda like game

I think it would be a good idea for Nintendo to make a game, like in a lot of ways to Zelda but broke away from the story line. Waiting four years between iterations of the Zelda series seems a bit much and with another series to fill in the spot would be, I think, a good idea.
What do you think, should they, any ideas on story lines? I was think they could keep the fantasy save the world feel but make a new land with more villages, it could have rival kingdoms, and it would be nice to have it be more challenging.

I don't think they should. If you're looking for a game like Zelda, they already have a series for that. No need to make another.

Every Zelda game has the same story, you start as a no body, learn you're a hero, go to dungeons, get equipment, beat an evil figure, save the world and Zelda.

when nintendo sets out to make a game, they dont say "hey what story can we tell?" their approach to games is entirely ludological


so they would never, ever make a "zelda" type game just to tell a different story

I wouldn't encourage Nintendo to create another fantasy series. They've already made Zelda, with a very substantial fanbase. Creating a different game with the same theme will only make critics and fans annoyed.

I don't think they need to make a Zelda-based game, i'm happy with just Zelda on its own - and I don't mind waiting four years for the next game to be released - i would much rather have 2 zelda games for the wii that are awesome, and not a whole bunch of zelda-related games that are really terrible.
