Sm Goomba Best N64 Controller?

So im getting a new N64 (i sold it years ago for $12 at gamestop, worst decision of my entire life), and ive been looking into buying some controllers as it only comes with one. Through my research i found that the joysticks on the first party ones are horrible, and you cannot replace them with GC ones. So my question is, whats the best third party controller to buy? One that looks almost exactly like the first party ones is what im shooting for, but a slight variation i can live with.

Actually, the first party controllers are wonderful, and whoever told you otherwise doesn't know what they are talking about. as for control stick, you can buy replacement ones very, very cheap.

All of the third-party controllers I've tried are terrible and haven't lasted very long. My first-party controllers both work perfectly fine to this day, and they're over 13 years old.

EDIT: This is the highest-rated third-party controller I could find by doing a quick search. It is rated 3.5 stars with the majority of the complaints being about the joysticks, which I believe, since that was the worst part of the third-party controllers I had.

first party controllers work better than 3rd party, and are just better in general

Well everywhere that i look says that the first party joysticks were not made for longevity. I have had bad experiences with them. And replacements arent too cheap, they usually sell for about $7 a pop. Plus u have to open it up an unsolder and resolder, not my strong suit.

Whoever is telling you this is giving you bad info. My sticks have lasted since I got the console in 1996, and there is no soldering involved in replacing the sticks should you wish to.

All you have to do to replace them is pop the old one and and pop the new one in...I only have 1 controller with a messed up stick, and the only reason that ones messed up is because my friend's dog got a hold of it.

If you're buying a fire print it's not first party. Unless you just meant to say "red."
