Exclamation SNES and N64 strange video problem?

I was wondering if anyone knew why on my SNES and on my N64 the TV screen shows warped lines radiating from the outside toward the center of the screen? They are relatively unnoticeable, but you can see them. They are almost transparent. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Hello, dwsykes. Most likely, there is something wrong with a wire in the a/v cord/ antenna cord/S-video cord(whichever you are using). Try playing with the cord(s) and see if it clears up when held at a certain angle. If this happens, you know it is the cord. they can be bough relatively cheap online. Please reply and let me know what happens.

I am using a switch box that allows me to hook up multiple systems with component yellow, red, white into s-video. The thing is my SNES and N64 are the only systems affected. The PS2 and my friends PS3 are fine. Maybe the SNES and N64 hate the s-video?

EDIT: It will take me some time to learn this forum, and I got your message.

Yea, i would say that its either the cords or your TV, depending on how old it is.

The switch box and cables are new, and the TV is a year old. But like I said it isn't very noticeable, only when the screen is black/dark.

I think I might do a diagnostic by switching to different inputs and go from there I greatly appreciate the help, and I will post the effects later. Thanks!

I would reccomend plugging the consoles directly into the TV as a test, to eliminate the variables.

And btw dwsykes, it is considered rude to double-post on a forum. Just warning you.

I have not used a switch box in years. Is the switch box itself new? if not, the problem could be with the box, or more like,y with the cord running from the box to your television.

I don't know what you mean by double-post, but if you tell me I won't do it again. Thanks, still new to this stuff...

Double posting is posting twice in a row in the same thread, as you did earlier. Its not a huge problem, its just courtesy to let others speak. Try not to do it too much if its avoidable.

Yes, please use the edit button instead. That is what it is there for. It IS ok to double post in say, a your own blog thread or your own art thread, but other than that, use the edit button, please.
