Post Ubisoft and Nintendo strikes before Natal

Both Your shape, and Racquet sports games from Ubisoft are two of the first games to have a web cam style camera used for in game purposes. It seems that Nintendo and Ubisoft have worked together to produce basic camera control games before Natal arrives.

Although I'm not sure how the camera will be used in Racquet sports, there are plenty of possibilities that make you think of Microsoft's Natal system. So I ask this, do you think Ubisoft is testing to see in camera control based games are a viable means for gaming, or do you think Ubisoft is just going after the larger install base of the Wii and getting a leg up on the competition with an already established casual market?

I think that they are testing this out first. If it works well then we will probably see a whole slew of these type games.

Am I the only one who finds the whole body motion sensing technology in games silly? I've used a controller to play games my whole life, and now I have to pretend I'm doing the thing in the video game. 1. I might as well go outside rather than "simulate" me doing something (sports) 2. The whole reason I play games is so I can sit down and be lazy, not stand up and swing my arms around like a monkey to play baseball.

I'm not very interested in this at all. I'm sick of being bogged down by peripherals.

Xbox's Natal should be great, though.

Motion controls suck, they never get them right, and like always. They will over ubsess and forget how to make good controller games anymore. It's like someone telling me to use a wiimote and nunchuk in DKC, wth? give me a controller, I want to push a control pad right, not point a dot on the screen to the right. It's stupid...
Also, if gaming is lazy, well. That is what sports are for. Bottomline, motion controls should be a choice, a choice I say!
