Battle Clauses

With the upcoming tournament, I felt necessary the need of explaining some clauses. Aura's Ultimate Pokémon Guide could also work but I wanted to make a new one for quick searching, questions and better explanation if necessary. Plus some clauses that are there are somewhat dumb and it misses some that are important.

Item Clause
Each Pokémon on your team must be holding a different item from one another. In other words, your team cannot have two Pokémon holding Leftovers, etc. Items that are different but have the same effect are allowed, such as Leftovers and Black Sludge.

Soul Dew Clause
No Pokémon can hold the item 'Soul Dew.'

Hax Item Clause
Hax items are those that rely on luck and therefore are banned due to not being based on a real skill level. The banned items are:
- Bright Powder
- Focus Band
- King's Rock
- Lax Incense
- Lucky Punch
- Quick Claw
- Razor Claw
- Razor Fang
- Scope Lens
- Stick
Sleep Clause
Only one Pokemon can be sleep at a time in your opponent's team. If that Pokémon recovers from sleep status, you may put a Pokémon of your opponent's team under sleep status again. Pokemon asleep due to the effects of Rest or Effect Spore do not count towards this limit. Yawn also violates this clause even though it doesn't induce sleep inmediately.

Freeze Clause
Similar to the Sleep Clause, only one Pokémon on your opponent's team can be frozen at a time. This is a little tricky since if you use a move with a chance of freezing the opponent and it freezes it, you have broken the clause.

Species Clause
Each Pokemon must be of different species. For example, you cannot have more than one Tyranitar in your team. Remember that different forms of the same pokémon are not allowed, such as Giratina Origin Forme and Giratina Another Forme on the same team. Pokémon of the same evolutionary line are allowed.

OHKO Clause
Better known as One-Hit KO Clause. You cannot use moves that will give your opponent a OHKO. Said banned moves are:
- Fissure
- Guillotine
- Horn Drill
- Sheer Cold
Evasion Clause
Pokémon cannot use moves such as Double Team or Minimize that increases the evasion of the user or moves that lower the opponent's accuracy such as Sand Attack or Mud Slap. Moves that lower the foe's evasion stat are allowed, such Defog and Sweet Scent. Abilities that increases evasion during weather effects such as Sand Veil and Snow Cloak are allowed.

Uber Clause
Pokémon in the 'Uber' tier cannot be used in OU matches in order to keep a fair gameplay level. See this thread as the Pokémon in the Uber tier sometimes change.

Self-KO Clause
If both players are down to their last Pokemon and one uses a move that kills itself, such as Explosion, Self-Destruct, Destiny Bond, or Memento, the person who used the move is considered the loser of the match.

Little Cup Clause
Players can only use Pokémon usable in Little Cup matches. Here's a list.

Remember that there are also two kind of unwritten clauses for little cups:
- All Pokémon must be at level 5. Not 1, 100 or 50. Level 5.
- Clamperl cannot hold the item 'DeepSeaTooth.'
Timed Battle
This clause is mostly used in Shoddy Battle, but sometimes in normal battles too. It explains that both players must agree on a time counter for each turn of the battle. If the counter of one player surpasses that limit, it's considered the loser of the battle.

There are other clauses but they're fairly retarded, such as 'No SkarmBliss' or 'No Legendaries', but those are normally left for casual matches or tournaments with special rules.
