Grand Theft Auto IV

Yes you guys, it is finally out!!
And I have to say, it is looking pretty sweet.

Main Character
Niko Bellic

Niko Bellic grew up in the war-torn Serbia, eventually joining the army when he was a teenager. When his unit of 15 young men was ambushed by the enemy... Niko survived, most of his friends didn't. He later finds out that two others had survived, and one of them tipped the enemy off. Niko vowed to track down the culprit. After he was working in the criminal underworld for some time, the boat he was on sank during a smuggling run, Niko swam to safety. Everything in the ship was lost. The human trafficking ring leader was convinced that Niko had the money with him. Niko quickly joined the crew for the Liberty City bound cargo ship called the Platypus. This is how he came to be in Liberty City.

Gameplay

Niko taking cover behind a car

This is my favorite thing about the game, after playing previous Grand Theft Auto games, I know this one would be great. But I had no idea they would make some very different gameplay changes. Now the core gameplay is still the same, shoot people, steal cars, bla bla bla. But with the added RAGE engine, accompanied by the Euphoria game animation engine, creates the most epic shootouts and car chases I have ever seen.

Here, take a look at this gameplay video.

Multiplayer

Holy Jesus, there is finally multiplayer! I know you can do various things such as free roaming the city with your other people, racing, cops and robbers, death match, and team death match, I believe. You access multiplayer in-game through your cell-phone, you then choose your player model, and either look for a place to play on, or create your own. There are a multitude of settings you can set for your server. You can turn peds on or off, and more ittler details.
More info about multiplayer(Don't worry, I'll this stuff in this thread soon enough).

Now there is a lot more I can put in this thread, and I'll get to that. But for now discuss what I've put in here right now. It's late, I got work to do, cya.

EDIT: I got Grand Theft Auto IV, feel free to ask any questions!

That's a really good review you have up there. I, myself, don't have a PS3 (wouldn't even touch it on 360), but I have played a couple of minutes of it at my friends place, and he has a PS3. I must say, if you liked San Andreas, you'll absolutely adore this game, easy to get into, great gameplay, and more.

Yeah, I would definitely get it. I love San Andreas.

Except I don't have a 360 yet, need to save up for one.

Well it's controversial, and it's a fun game.

Nintendo needs a GTA game. I used to have GTA on GBA, but it was too basic. I also had Driver:Paralell Lines for Wii, that was like GTA, but again, too basic. i like the depth GTA has on other consoles.

I know what you mean. I'm not sure, but is The Godfather similar in terms of depth to GTA?

Also try No More Heroes, GTA like game that is hilarious.

I like how you can do anything. Fly helicopters, drive cars, KILL people. Its like, freedom you cant have in the real world.

With other games you can go anywhere etc, but you cant kill people with such a great range of weapons. And you cant explore the same as in GTA.

Oh, and when you go on a big killing spree, i like to drive the tanks

I think its the freedom, killing people, doing things you can't do in real life, which makes this game fun.

It is a good free-roam game. The realisticlisityism(hehehe) plus the graphics make for quite the life-like experience, but with more things to do without getting in any real trouble. Plus it has missions and shooting, so that kind of standardizes the game, but in a good way.
