Monster Hunter 3 Tri- The Sit Down

So I had a chance to sit (stand) and play Monster Hunter 3 on Wii. Well My history had not always been a good one when it comes to Monster hunter. I never been a fan sadly. regardless I still gave it a shot to see if it has changed. Well lets just say I'm still not a fan of Monster hunter. So the main goal of the game is to well.. kill monster (dinos of some kind) and go on quests. Well to kill these monster you need a weapon. Weather it be a Short n shield, great sword, Hammer, Bowgun, Lance, Switch Axe, and a long Sword. Ok so you get what you need an du go out for the hunt.

So this is what makes me not like Monster Hunter 3. Its not different. I can play Monster Hunter Freedom and it would be the same game, and sadly look better. (sry Wii u kno I still love you) Yes it graphicly impaired to other Monster Hunters. Not only that it rly has no Wii control. so I wing the great sword down, and my character swings the sword side ways. hmmmm. Ok so there is at least one thing to do with the motion control, but it didnt do it how I wanted to. You dont need Motion Plus for it to do as I asked. (or did) Its not one to one, no but it was a basic swing. No matter. no big deal. I can use the A buttion to attack. Each weapon has different controls, and I only had a change to use the Great sword. so I wont jugde just yet. so I went on, and still everything still felt the same. the load screens, the map layout was the same. The Attacks were the same. So I'm not impressed. I felt like I was playing Monster Hunter Freesdom again, and that makes me think.. is online going to be the same as Freedom too? Prolly, but with FCs and the lame Wii Speak.

I'm not bashing MH. there are alot of fans of the Game. I just cant get into it. I was hoping to see somtihng to make me like the game in the New MH3 Tri. I guess not, but long time fans will love it. So to all fas of MH get out there and enjoy the hunt with ur friends when Monster Hunter 3 Tri comes out.

I thought Tri had great visuals.
Then again, graphic quality is the last thing I notice about games.

I rented this game, it has horrible controls.

It would be much better if it had a lockon system, but the controls still would be pretty bad with it.

This game actually looks quite good. I'm possibly thinking of getting it. I agree with AlloftheAbove that graphics are one of the least important things in games. It's nice to have good graphics, but it's not a major drama if they're not great.

I have a question, though. Is the gameplay open-ended? Like, Oblivion, for example. Are you locked into doing the main storyline? Or can you go off and roam the world?
