I do if I don't have it on DVD+R. Some of the newer Blu-Ray Players upconvert regular dvd's that make them look almost as good as a Blu Ray movie. Sound is much better in Blu Ray.

it depends on the movie...if I think I won't care about it that much, I spend less on a DVD, but if I know it's gonna be awesome and that I'm gonna totally love it, I don't mind spendng the extra on the blu ray.

Not really. Why pay more, even if sound and picture may be slightly better?
But I fear I will have no choice soon, as I fear they will stop making normal DVD and make it BluRay only.

you answered your own question. pay more for better picture and sound. and it's not just slight for people who actually know what things like aspect ratio are. in other words, real film fanatics

I have not yet got a Blu Ray player, and I'm not planning to. I can understand that some people like their films with the best audio and video quality possible... but I'm completely satisfied with my DVD player. Buying films from iTunes or in other digital ways is becoming very popular now - so I don't really see the Blu Ray player becoming very popular. I also watch animated shows quite a lot - and there isn't really any point in buying animated shows in high definition, since it doesn't make any difference.

Zero has been buying just about everything on Blu-ray lately. Except for anime, since a lot of it hasn't hit the format yet and probably never will. But if there's a Blu-ray version, rest assured Zero buys it, despite the fact that Funimation -- who is the currently the anime publisher showing the most support for BD -- basically just upscales their anime releases. They still look better than standard DVD, though. Amazon's prices for Blu-ray anime box sets simply cannot be beaten.

Current Blu-ray collection:

300
Fight Club
Kill Bill
Kill Bill 2
Ninja Assassin
Sherlock Holmes
Spider-Man 3
The Matrix

Advent Children Complete
Akira
Burst Angel
Devil May Cry
Evangelion 1.11 You Are (not) Alone
Ghost in the Shell
Heroic Age
Samurai 7
Samurai Champloo
Street Fighter: The Ties that Bind
Tsubasa
Wings of Honneamise
