Anyone successfully mod their Wii?

I'm thinking about modding my Nintendo Wii. Has anyone had sucess modding their Wii? Do you know if they have a usb mod, or only the soldering type. I'm not really sure I want to risk breaking my wii when these are hard to get. I was hoping that by now something easier was out.

Thanks for any tips you have.

I have seriously been considering doing it to mine, but I'm afraid I might brick it. Hopefully someone on here has some good pointers.

gamerman64 is on a distinguished road

Its worth the money to pay someone else to do it. Id never attempt it by myself. The wires and points to solder are so tiny that Id never be able to do it correctly.

And secondly, if you get someone else to do it, they usually give a 12 month warranty. This is good because a) if they screw up, they will get you another Wii b) Nintendo warranty becomes void after you mod your Wii, so this will still cover it.

a modded wii is equal an original wii, plus you can play backups/imports/homebrew/virtualconsole/wiiware....

oh, and if you don't know.... with the twilight hack you can play vc and wiiware WITHOUT a modchip....
