Wii Component Problem

Have a weird issue with Super Castlevania on the VC. It shows all distorted and in four segments on my TV screen, I'm using component cables and it goes just fine when I switch to Scart. Anything I can do?

Try tinkering with the video settings if there are any. I'm not sure.

I think I might have found an answer! Turns out that some games refuse to work on component causing distortions. I used the instructions here to fix it, still leaves a few bits discoloured (such as a rainbow colour flashing boss after killing them in Castlevania) but seems to work for lots of other games too:

well, they are NES games which are 20+ years old, being played on modern equipment. I suppose some problems should be expected from time to time.

But it's being provided on the VC (most games of which work perfectly through component) so Nintendo seemed to have let the ball drop on a few
