DSi XL surface texture

Hi.

I'm thinking of buying an XL, but didn't like the matte "chalkboard" texture of the DSi.

I know the XL has a glossy top, and matte base, but is the base and rest still "chalkboard" like, or is it a different smoother kind of matte than the standard DSi?

I think the matte surface is great on the DSi. No smudges or fingerprints, it's great.
I'd assume it's the same texture on the DSi XL too.

so, from what I gather, you enjoy surfaces that constantly smudge and require constant cleaning?

If it's matte like the base of my laptop, that's fine.
I just found the DSi chalkboard material really unpleasant to handle.

I read someone saying the XL doesn't have the chalkboard texture of the DSi, but other stuff not really making it clear, some saying it has a better matte feel than the DSi.
