A few things that annoy me about PSP.

The PSP is a great console, but theres a few small things which annoy me so so much.

1) Those stupid blinking lights. I can be laying in bed, watching a movie, and the memory stick light is flashing, and the power light is there, glowing green everywhere. its just so annoying. DS has jsut one nice green light. No one super bright one and one that keeps flashing orange.

2) When you take it off hold, it often slips to power, and the console turns off. This doesn't really bother me, because you can jsut switch it back on and continue with the game, but when you are listening to music (the only time you really need hold) its a massive pain in the a**.

3) The battery life is just too short compared to the DS.

4) There is no touch screen, so no on-screen keyboard, so it takes so long to type things in the web browser etc.

5) UMDs get scratched if you dont look after them. I look after mine, but Id like to have cartridges, because then if you are negligent, it doesn't matter.

6) The TV out works on movies and music, but not for games! This is extremely irritating. Why did I bother with the cable then?!

Anyway, these are all very minor things, but they get on my nerves so much.

The PSP is a great little console, very powerful and with lots of interesting and useful features.

I think maybe some time Ill write a big comparison of DS and PSP..

Great writeup on the PSP. Look forward tot he comparison. I have thought about getting a PSP, but thought the DS had more advantages.

I like some of the games that run only on the PSP, but I like the DS Lite. I don't have a PSP, I don't think I will ever get one.

If you could get Custom Firmware on it you can use a plugin called LED-Mod and you can choose to turn those off! They bug me too! And when it is gonna die the light just doesn't stop blinking!

I totally agree with you on the UMD subject. Mine are in horrible condition. I left them in cases and they still broke. Well, I got them free anyways, so I can easily get new copies.

I have a skin on mine, so the lights aren't a problem for me, but I hate how easily the UMDs get scratched like you said.
I'd like it to be a bit more durable. I hate is when it gets knocked off a bed, not even two feet, and EVERYTHING comes out. The game, the battery, the memory card. IT'S ANNOYING. I've only had my fallen twice, and both times it did that. And recently someone pushed me and my PSP slammed down and of course, everything flew out. It's annoying when you are in the middle of the game.

Sony should make the PSP a bit more tough.
