Budget Priced Wii Games

Budget Priced Wii Games To Accompany Console Price Drop

by Matt Miller on May 03, 2011

Still need to purchase a Wii? The price is going down, and several high-profile games are beginning a new budget line.

Kotaku reports that Nintendo will be lowering the price of a Wii console to $149.99 within the month. In addition, gamers can look forward to several $19.99 budget priced Wii games. The new line will be called Nintendo Selects. Conflicting reports from various sources indicate that the early titles in the Nintendo Selects program will include Animal Crossing: City Folk, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Mario Super Sluggers, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Reports also indicate that new Wii consoles will soon be packaged with Mario Kart Wii, and Wii Sports will be available separately.
Do you still not have a Wii? Are these lowered prices enough to draw you into the fold?

The boxart looks kind of ugly. And I'm willing to bet Nintendo's games will still be $30, like they did with the GameCube.

Damn, I thought this was about to be an announcement for F-Zero Wii.
But this is nice as well, about time indeed. And laugh out loud at that video, SGC64.

Inunah has a spectacular aura aboutInunah has a spectacular aura about

Damn, I thought this was going to be an announcement for a US release of Nanashi no Game, Tales of Innocence, Tales of Hearts, Cross Treasures, Soma Bringer, Taiko no Tatsujin DS, Jam with the Band, Mother 1 + 2, Mother 3, or Ni no Kuni.

=_= But meh, it turns out to be announcing rereleased games. Not so great. They should've opted for translating MUCH WANTED Japan-only games, instead.

I guess Nintendo is making one final run for any family that doesn't have a Wii yet before releasing Cafe.

If Nintendo were to announce any localizations of Japanese Wii titles for the US, they're going to do it at E3.

I dunno why. I never had my hopes raised at all over this.

Besides, I already have all the titles available for budget price. For me, nothing of significant value was gained or lost.
