Hooking up the NES

So, as some may know, I recently bought an NES. (3 months ago)
However, it has the stupid coax AV plug, and, JUST MY LUCK, will not work along with my television.
My question to you guys is, do you know if there is a third-party plug that is the alternative to the coax plug, IE the Red, white and yellow plugs, and if so, price range?

Thanks guys.

I use the red, white, and yellow auxiliary plugs to get my NES to work. Most DVD players should come with these.

How does the coax cable not work with your TV? I have a pretty new one and that's how I've hooked it up.

The cable guy was trying to convince us to not hook it up that way but I think it was a lot easier since I don't have to change the channel.

Record to VHS

I still use the RF switch so I can make VCR recordings of my game play.

I believe you mean A/V cables. And yes, the NES originally came with A/V cables and an RF switch. You'll need the one with the red and yellow plugs on both ends

they have 2 methods of hooking up your NES:

Option 1:
this is how it looks like
https://encrypted.google.com/search?...NJKBqQGk8IGgDA

a bit more in detail
http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/sys...rftotv_nes.jsp

Option 2:
this is how these look like
https://encrypted.google.com/search?...C4aCrAG804GICw

and a bit more detail
http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/sys...ook_avtotv.jsp

depending on tv that you have ( probably in this modern day in age ) its a flat screen or led, you ll have to use the option 2 method ...

me, i like it simple and went with option 1 ( i still dig the tube tvs =) ) . bought a tv at the goodwill/ thief store for 15 bucks and was happy

Close this thread someone.
I got it working, and it doesn't need to be bumped.

Thanks.
