Super Mario Galaxy - Review

Marvman's first review....

Super Mario Galaxy, what esle can be said about this Hall-of-Fame game
that has won numerous awards, and ensured Miyamoto's vision of what
the Wii is fully capable of doing?

It's probably in everyone's home, but if you haven't gotten this game yet.
You should definitely Freakn A get this.

Super Mario Galaxy

Everyone knows Super Mario. He is the spokesperson of Nintendo.
Super Mario Galaxy is another great and lengthy Mario game
that will keep you entertained for a very long time.
It is just like all other Mario games, but with a complete new storyline
to keep this title fresh and completely polished and new.

There is a gigantic comet that passes over the Mushroom Kingdom
every hundred years. During the time of the meteor passing,
there is a traditionally held Star Festival and no one would have
believed it, but this year the comet was so large that loose peaces
were able to land on the Earth below. Peach is saving a special gift
for Mario at the castle, but before he can reach the palace,
the entire town is in uproar. It is once again Bowser,
up to his no good tricks again.

In this Mario game, you go from galaxy to galaxy collecting
very important stars that will be used to generate a space ship.
You will need this craft to save Peach and help a new friend,
named Rosalina.

In one galaxy, there may be many different planets.
Once your finished at the planet you are launched to another at high speed.

The graphics are beautiful. They continue to change from game
to game for the better. Like a lot of games on the Wii,
they are crisp and clear to every detail. After playing this game Marvman
feels like he was walking through the Mushroom Kingdom.
It will truly take your breath away of the realistic sites that
you will see of this fantasy universe.

Visit enemies old and new in a new beautiful and polished environment.

Enjoyable Rating

This is a very interesting game. They seem to be able to throw something
completely new at you with each step, so there is no repetitive feeling at all.
There are parts that make you laugh too.
You will have a great and humble time while playing this game.

Along with the single player mode, there is a multiplayer for another guest.
This mode will not keep your friend entertained for a very long time
because they only sit and use the pointer to collect star bits, but you could
get your friends involved if they are just sitting around watching you play.
It is also good to have a very young sibling help you out.
Marvman is sure that they would enjoy it too.

Wii Remote Capability

You will use the Nunchuk to move like some other Wii titles to move Mario around
and you will also use the pointer a lot to collect star bits that you can later
throw at enemies. You acquire other ways to use it later on in the game,
like shaking the remote to do a spin attack.

At first, the revolving camera is a little to get used to.
It can impair a lot of your movement but it become easier with time.
Another thing is that the Black Holes appear rather quickly.
You may be walking and not see what is in front of you and then,
boom, you fall into eternal darkness.

Graphics: 9.7/10 - One of the Wii finest graphical achievments yet.
From galaxy to galaxy, you will see how definite and eyecatching the visuals truly are.
As no Nintendo game has gotten this much eye candy before it.
You could definitely see the years of polish in this game.

Storyline: 8.4/10 - Storyline was lacking, as one of the only weaknesses in this game.
But who needs a plot thriling storyline in a Mario game?
Has any Mario game before it, besides Mario RPG had one?
You'll barely notice it, as you are overly engrossed in the gameplay rather.

Controls: 9.8/10 - Very responsive, you should be able to pick this up
and play it in a matter of minutes. It's so good, you could basically ly down on your bed,
and just play it to sleep in that manner.
The only flaw in the controls would be sometimes the camera wouldn't
attend to the direction ya want it to, and the "Spring Mario" suit,
definitely isn't a breeze to control. As you are litteraly bouncing all over the place.

Music: 9.7/10 - High quality orchastrated music by Konji Kondo,
and the gang. Would there be any doubt as to them failing in this regard of a Nintendo game?
From stylized remixes of classic Nintendo tunes, to phenomenal originals,
such as Gusty Gardens Galaxy....
You'll find yourself humming along.

Overall Rating: 9.8/10 - This is the defining game of the Nintendo Wii intoduction era.
Nobody who has a Wii, should be left out of having this Masterpiece in their collection.
It is the 2007 game of the year. Its what made the Wii legendary. And it certainly nearly pulled
off a perfect 10 in Marvman's book. Super Mario Galaxy, a game for the Universe.
