3DS $80 Price Drop

That's right, Nintendo announced that starting August 12th, the 3DS will cost only $169.99. Australia, Europe, Japan, and NA are getting this cut.

Nintendo was even nice enough to give those who bought the 3DS before the price drop 10 free NES games, and 10 free Gameboy games. 20 free games, pretty nice huh. They will get the NES games before anyone else, but the gameboy games will be exclusive to only those who bought it before the price cut.

The Gameboy games include: Yoshi's Island, Super Mario Advance 3, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Metroid Fusion, WarioWare Inc: Mega Microgame$, Mario vs. Donkey Kong and a few others.

The NES they said are: Super Mario Bros, Legend of Zelda, Balloon fighter, Ice Climbers, Donkey Kong Jr and more.

So whoever said Nintendo doesn't care about their customers can s their d.

and on a side note, mgs3ds got delayed till 2012.

Neomysterion is an unknown quantity at this point

Now this is what I deem good news. Originally, I wasn't going to buy one, but I may consider getting a Nintendo 3DS this upcoming Christmas.

Almost didn't see the edit. >.<
It would make a better gift for my 20th birthday to be honest.

Should of done this shit in the first place, and it wouldn't of only sold 700,000 units since june. They better have Metroid: Zero Mission, or I'd be pissed.

At first I was like "WHAT?! I ALREADY PAID $250!!!!! *threatens Reggie with a handmade shank*" then I read that I get 20 free virtual console games and I was like "**** YEAH NINTENDO! *brofists' Reggie*"

also, add an image in so we can use this on the front page.

Nintendo may have just saved themselves from the Vita threat by doing this.

Not only that, they're catering to the early adopters by giving them back the $80 dollars difference in 20 VC games.

I don't see how this is a lose-lose situation for Nintendo at the moment, but now they need to back up the system with some software. It's refreshing to see that they've got this holiday season figured out, but we need to know what's coming early-to-mid next year.

At least we got MGS3D to look forward to then.

A good move on Nintendo's part, especially since the heavy hitters are shortly coming such as SF643D, Mario Kart, and etc. and the 20 free games= epic. Makes me want a 3DS again

Sucks for the delay of MGS3D though, but I already have it on PS2 so w/e

seems too good to be true.

Still though,m if it is, then that freaking rules. 20 games. Assuming this is real, would we be able to buy these 20 games whenever? There's not the greatest selection right now you know. at least not for 20 games. Maybe 5 games there I'd consider getting at the moment like Super mario advance 3, donkey kong, microgame$, and a couple of others. Haven't really looked at the software store lately.

Edit: http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/28/3d...on-august-12/\

huh... still can't find anything on the fact that us early buyers get 20 games. I hope I do.

Edit 2: http://www.businessinsider.com/3ds-p...intendo-2011-7

Very bottom. Thanks for being honest pity... This is great!
