LetterBomb Softmod v4.3

Letterbomb Softmod v4.3 Tutorial by Mario789

Here I will submit my tutorial on how to get homebrew, HackMii and BootMii for free without having to hard hack or "mod" your Wii console.

What you will need...
A SD card with .02mb (free space, u dont need a lot at all.)
A Nintendo Wii running firmware 4.3 (the letter after "3" just indicates you'r region (ex. "U" = USA)
WinRAR

Step One:
Turn on you're Wii and goto Wii Settings then go to the second list of options and click "Internet" then click "Console Information" You shall now see a address named MAC

Step Two:
Goto please.hackmii.com (where you will get the download)

Step Three:
Type in the "Mac" address you located in your Wii Settings internet options.

Step Four:
Download the software (click Red or Blue wire, it doesn't matter they both act as "download" buttons.)

Step Five:
Now unzipp the contents downloaded using WinRAR

Step Six:
Copy all files to the SD card. And eject the sd card form your PC, and place it in the Wii SD Slot.

Step Seven:
Goto you're mail and look around (yesterday, today, two days ago, it is in different spots depending on your time zone and when you find it click the red bomb)

Step Eight:
Download Homebrew, BootMii, & HackMii from the LetterBomb install manager. (Use the Wii remote sideways to navigate)

Step Nine:
Unplug you're power supply and plug it back in. You only have to do this if you launch the BootMii app without having any readable contents in your disc drive, the disc drive will just flash, so you simply have to unplug the power supply and plug it back in.

-----------------

Good Downloads To Have
IMGBurn > Used For Burning ISO files to a CD-R or CD+R disc. Please be aware that all game files should be burnt at a 1x recording speed, so make sure the discs you buy are able to record at such a slow pase.

NeoGamma vR.8 > This download is probably the best content loader for the wii. With this you can simply load a game from a USB, SD and of course a CD+/-R. When you downloadthis put it on your SD card and put the SD card in the wii. Then proceed to the Homebrew channel and you should see the "NeoGamma" download. Click that and download the channel. Once the channel is installed you may now play your ISO games.

WinRAR > WinRAR is a very useful tool to have, not only do you need it for this project, but it is very handy to have for everyday use. This program unpacks the content downloaded in a .ZIP file. You can then extract/move contents to your most preferable place (In this case the SD card)

----------------

NOTES
Please note, that ISO's burnt to a disc will NOT work if you bought you'r Wii a year after production. Only the old wii's have the CD encoding for burnt disc ISO's. You may use the SD method and USB method (which is easier anyway). The newer wii's have special disc software valuation to tell if the game inserted is retail or pirated. This is why you must use the SD method if your console is new.

Nintendo Fan Forum is not responsible for any issues you may come into while doing this. I do promise you that this is 100% safe and untraceable (Source: been using softmods for 3 years now). However, these acts are illegal only if you use a ripped/copied version of a game while it is still being sold by retailers. Once a game reaches a end in distribution it is 100% legal to use burned copies.

This is completely safe and reversible, if you feel you don't want a hacked wii you can simply remove it, this is a very safe method.

----------------

Questions & Answers:
Q: What happens when it's time to upgrade to the latest firmware?
A: Come back to this thread and I will supply anything else needed for the new firmware, or just don't upgrade to latest firmware. (Probably your best bet)

Q: What does ISO mean?
A: A ISO is a file format used to encode images to a disc. You can simply think of a ISO as "The Game File" as thats what it will be referred to.

Q: What is a Softmod?
A: A softmod is a modification made to your Wii without having to actually mess with the hardware. A "hardmod" is when you change the hardware which we do not suggest, hardhacks invade warrants, customer support and are irreversible. Softmods are untraceable and have nothing to do with the Wii's hardware.

If it wasn't, then there wouldn't really be any point to the "Wii Hacks" Subforum :/

Thanks SuperGamecube64.

In that case I'll edit it to make it more informal.
